Description
Jaw Brew is the Premium Quality, Award winning, Craft Beer Pub & Brewery based in Milngavie, Glasgow. Producing superb beers that are brewed by hand in small batches.
At the brewery we normally produce batches of our beers in quantities of 800 litres, although we are also very happy to produce an individual brew for interested customers, which we can make on a smaller scale on our ’test’ kit to produce 200 litres of beer which we can provide in cask, keg, bottle or bag-in-box.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - golden amber and cloudy. Nice head. Nose - ripe banana and light spice. So far so good. Taste - ripe or overripe banana again. Creamy and light spice backdrop. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - well I am surprised. A weizen that stands up and it’s not from Bavaria.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - floral and light toffee backdrop. Taste - toffee and floral honey. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a little sweet at the front for the style but good bitter finish.

Bottle consumed at home. It pours black with a tiny, bubbly tan head. The nose is toasty, charred stuff, mild acidity, cocoa and liquorice. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasty, earth, liquorice, cocoa, cola, mild acidity and burnt notes with a dry finish. Light-medium body and limited carbonation. Fairly basic stuff. Tastes a bit like home-brew...and a bit more carbonation wouldn’t go amiss.

Light hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Thin malts, but they do provide dry creamy sweetness. Hops are pithy bitter with citric peel bitterness and tang. Touch of spice before the dry finish. Too dry but it is pretty drinkable.

Opaque black - brown beer, even a bright light right next to hit hardly penetrates! No head. Palate is light and dry. The dense dark malts are actually mild and dry. Good dark fruit tang. Trace of lactose. Light dry finish. Standard stuff but fine.

Hazy rich gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry with good fine carbonation. Light pale malts. Mild bittersweet floralness. Modest citrus, orange identifiable. Light dry finish. Passable.
