Cask @ Armoury, Shrewsbury. Dark clear with a reddy-brown small head. It's a light gritty ale with mildly sweet dark malts, with perhaps a hint of roasted here too.

9th March 2018. Cask pint at The Platform Ale House, Albrighton Shropshire. Copper body, clean and clear, off-white crown on top. Nice blend, malts to the fore in the aroma, hops take over in the semi-bitter taste, some fruity notes in both the nose and flavour, just to keep you interested.

From cask at The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with OGJ 03.02.18. Ebony. Dense, even and persistent head and lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate sauce and coffee. Sweet taste, with chocolate, coffee and brittle. Low bitterness. And too sweet. Smooth mouthfeel.

Tried at the Victoria Lincoln. Pale golden cooour with a white head. Soft light and refreshing. Certainly light subtle and rash to drink.

Clear, orange-red colored, small+ white head. Aroma is of some malt, fruity jam, biscuit, light herbal hops. Taste is medium sweet malt, biscuit, fruity esters, jam, some herbal hops, medium- bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Too much on the fruity yeasty side for me... (cask)

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Tawny brown, clear with a small white head. Nutty, burnt caramel aroma with almost a bit of smoke. Taste is far less sweet than the aroma suggests. There's a strong astringency in the finish, with notes of citrus peel in the aftertaste. A bit messy but enjoyable enough.

Cask, large sample of someone else's half-pint during the 43rd Telford Beer Festival, hand-pulled at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 29th Sep 2017. Nice Oatmeal Stout, smooth and tasty, slightly bitter before balancing out into a nutty flavoured brew. Looked the part too. Liked it.

Cask pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 10th Sep 2017. Clean and clear light golden pour, white head. A few citrus notes from the hops and a light maltiness below. Not much difference between what a brewer calls 'subtle' and what I call 'bland'. You choose your own word after trying this.
