On cask at Brewery Tap - Clear amber gold body lacing white head. Nose steady malt and light hop. Taste light with little bitter kick.

Keg tap at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Dark brown, almost opaque with a loose beige head. Balsamic vinegar, old leather, strong red wine and rubber in the aroma. Bittersweet vinous taste with notes of sourness near the finish. Flat oily body. A tough beer to love, but maybe one to respect.

Cask @ The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre, Burton. Pours clear amber, aroma of malt, grain. Clean, sweet character overall, very interesting to taste fresh White Shield at the source. And, further to Jeremy's comment below, yes this is the original.

Cask @ The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre. Pours dark ruby, frothy pale tan head. Aroma of barley malt, chocolate. Taste is light, some gentle milk chocolate, low roast, light bitterness with some dark fruit moments. Good solid old-style porter.

Cask @ The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre, Burton. Pours clear gold, good pure white topping. Aroma is grainy pale malt. Taste is clean and light, as expected, ticking the light pale golden ale boxes nicely with a gentle biscuity malt character. Decent.

Very surprised to see this on a pump clip, thought it had gone forever. Found in The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury on 11th May 2019. I had a hand-pulled half-pint; didn't want to get drunk on the huge 2.8% ABV. Nice dark brown body, beige head of lasting foam. Malty and watery, just like it was 'back in the day' when it came from Birmingham during the 1970's. Nostalgia is a good thing, this beer was never 'a good thing' though. Scored kindly!

500ml bottle: BB 17th Oct 2020. No idea if this a re-brand or regular beer re-named. Poured into an old UK pint glass tankard at home on 10th May 2019. It was the last bottle of 12 that The Crown Inn, Oakengates got in, I was lucky to grab it. Anyway, it pours a nice golden colour, the head a lasting white affair. Decent enough blend of maltiness and piney/woody hop bitterness; nothing exciting or unusual, just a steady traditional bitter with a semi-dry finish.

3rd May 2019; hand-pulled half-pint at the 46th Telford Drinks Festival at The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Best beer I had at the festival, some say it's the cask version of 'Worthington's White Shield' and it could well be. Good amber body, off-white head. Lovely blend of fruity hops and maltiness in both the aroma and taste. Very pleasant all round.
