Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 3rd March 2026. Intensely dark sepia brown with shallow, pale tan foam and scant lacing. Coffee roast malt aroma. Dark chocolate, coffee and hints of cherry fruits in-mouth, and in long satisfying finish. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at Shakespeare's ACH, Sheffield - Clear auburn body, lacing white head. Intriguing fruity beer, sharp tangy orange peel, good old Dundee Marmalade on toast, then nice perky hoppy finish.

Cask at Pigs Ear. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, a very mild viscosity, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a mildly tangy dark chocolate, smooth and tasty. Rich ripe pruney fruits, a little date. Light smooth and semi dry finish. Yeah, old skool done very well indeed.

Gravity Cask at day 2 of the 41st Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 03/12/2025.
Black topped with a tan head.
Nose is roast malts, charr, dried fruit rinds, chocolate shavings.
Taste comprises roasted bite, molasses, toffee, fruit cake mix, chocolate dipped raisins.
Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol.
Okay sipper but lacks a little depth for me at 8%.

Cask at Midland, Stockport. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and excellent lacing. Is slow to settle but does so eventually. Malts to the fore over hops in the aroma – plus a hint of apples. In the mouth it starts of sweet (and somewhat watery) but with an underlying bitterness that gradually increases. Flavour has hops. Malts, pine and a hint of autumn fruits with citrus and spices coming through later leading to a slightly dry finish. This is decent – and quite swiggable.

Меня удивил данный Имперец. Прям добротный бласт про зе паст. Классика стаута, черный шоколад, немного кофе, жженки, при этом баланс.
