Bottle at home. Aroma is malty, weird hops, floral, soapy, herbal notes, some pine resin, sweet candied tropical fruits. Flavour is over moderate sweet and rather bitter. Body is medium. Strange one. Flawed, but interesting. I’m not saying "nope" to this beer, but it could use some work.

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweetish malts, caramel, dried fruits, toffee, touch of cocoa and roasty coffee, hint of raisins, bittering hops, some liquorice in the finish. Flavour is sweet but not excessively so, with a good biiter finish. Body is a bit above medium. Nice UK style Barley Wine, not too sweet for my taste.

Bottle at home. Aroma is fruity hops, tropical fruits, bit floral, light biscuity malt, touch of pine. Flavour is light sweetish and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Tasty stuff, nicely hopped.

From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Aroma is dark malt, rye bread, some chocolate, raisins, caramel, touch of roast. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Quite a smooth and tasty Doppelbock. *** rerate 2023, now brewed at their own facility. Great Doppelbock.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is roasted malt, smoke, peat, charcoal, liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is medium, bit weak considering the style and abv. Could have used some carbonation also. Not bad, has a good smokey peaty aroma, would have greatly benefitted from a fuller body and some carbonation though.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. The smell betrays that something is wrong with this beer. The aroma consists of roasted malt, light coffee, fruity hops, mild herbal, touch of citrus, with some weird and unpleasant dusty funky earthy horse manure-like element which unfortunately dominates the aroma. Flavour is a decent moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is just above medium. Such a shame about the manure flaw in the aroma, nothing wrong with the flavour and body.

From tap at Proeflokaal MOUT, Groningen. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, coffee, touch of chocolate, light roast and a hint of tobacco. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is above medium. Tasty ’Imperial Brown Ale’.

Op tap bij Arendsnest. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Belgische chocolade, praliné, gebrande mout, licht gerookt, in de smaak meer geturfd, vingerverf, koffie, gebrand, bitter. Lichte tot medium body. Lekker.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is grainy malts with bready wheat, spelt, citrus, spicy yeast and notes of clove. Flavour is lightly sweet and bitter with a hint of wheaty sourness. Body is medium. Nice multigrain complexity in an otherwise average Wit.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Big beany coffee aroma with dark malt, roast, caramel, and coffee grounds. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Great coffee aroma, body leaves something to be desired. That being said, this is a fine Coffee Porter.
