Description
Last beer was released in July 2021 and common consensus is that this is the year the brewery should be set as closed.
Do note that due to the nature of the beers produced both BrewDog and other online retailers continued to sell the beers for many years after the closure.
Dedicated to exploring and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with fermentation, we are on a quest to redefine Wild and Sour beers, forever. With a purpose-built facility where craft and nature find harmony, we utilise wild yeasts and microbes from our environment and ingredients sourced from all around the world.

Nice dark amber colour. Large head and lots of audible fizziness, but it drops down to 1cm in short time. Sour cider nose, hint of apples, toffee. Bitter lemon in the mouth, again more reminiscent of cider than lager. Finish a bit watery. Ok. Strange reading the other reviews left me wondering: is it actually a sour beer at all? Possibly a dud.

Sour ale with raspberries from BrewDog's sour project in Ellon, thanks Erwin Plancke for sharing! Snow white, rather thin, open head, hazy peach blonde robe with rosy to orangey tinge from the fruit. Aroma of raspberries upfront, that typical sour tomato association they usually have, redcurrant, kefir, peaches soaked in raspberry vinegar, sour milk and a hint of sweaty feet. Very acidic onset, with sharp 'basic' lactic sourness strongly amplified by the natural acids from the fruit, but in any case with a clear (yellow) raspberry flavour - though I would not have minded a bit more of this fruit's sweetness too for sheer compensation, even if juicy traces of fructose are certainly there. Sour apple and gooseberry notes, strong drying lactic sourness with that fruit acidity continuing over a slender white-bready core; sweaty accents show up here and there (as in rancid butter or sweaty feet, but fortunately not that outspoken). Some bready accents in the finish, along with lingering green apple effects becoming almost as strong as the sour berries effectively used here. The sourness has a persistent drying effect, but the fact that part of it comes from the fruit, makes up for a lot. Tasty, in all, but rather straightforward and lacking depth and complexity, like other OverWorks sours I had. One for the sourheads 'pur sang'.

Black with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, dark berries, and Hazel nut. Medium sourness with sour berries and chocolate end. Sour beers are not my kind but liked this one. bb 09.2025, vinmonopolet.no 12.2020.

330ml bottle from BrewDog Leicester, drunk in. Brownish red and mostly clear with a ring of beige head. Vinous, oaky notes on the nose, some red berry and maybe the hintiest hint sof white chocolate. Delicious tart taste with edges of red wine Vinegar and balsamic notes. A suggestion of coriander and of course more red berry and oak. Long vinous finish with incredible sour berry in the aftertaste. Oh wow, this is exquisite.
