The Brasserie du Pavé is a microbrewery located in the North not far from Lille. It brews craft beers (blonde, triple, IPA, amber…) from the PVL and BO range. These beers are regularly awarded medals in national and international competitions.

Tap at La Fine Mousse, 6th November 19. Pours a light chestnut brown, big firm white head. Aroma is smokey, meaty. Taste is smooth, lots of smoke, peat and meat. It’s a really nice, quite rich smoked beer.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 23/06/18. Many thanks! A hazed golden yellow coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is bit chessy, straw, belgian yeast. Flavour is composed of apple, cinnamon, medium belgian yeast, some dried fruits. Palate is froty carbonation, some diacetyl.

Bouteille 75 cl trouvée à la brasserie du vieux Lille en février 2019. Millésime 2018, bouteille numérotée 10325. Rebue ensuite en terrasse du Beerchope en août 2019 en 33 cl. Blonde trouble, épaisse au service, avec une multitude de grosses bulles, beaucoup de matière en suspension. Nez sur les céréales, banane, caramel, malt Cara, vin blanc moelleux. En bouche, céréales, malt, un peu sucrée, rappelle certains triples belges légèrement sucrées avec une belle complexité, une rondeur et un bon soutien de l'alcool (on est à 10% ABV tout de même, ne donnez pas cette bière à vos enfants !). Très sympathique découverte !

330ml bottle, from Celestin, Lille. Pours a clear golden amber, small off-white head. Aroma is soft, yeasty, enticing. Taste continues towards a soft yeasty sweet blonde profile, a touch metallic, herbal, wheaty perhaps, but generally balancing out to a decent-enough Blonde.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2018 - cheers all! Pours cloudy orange-gold with a tight, creamy topping. Soft tangy citrus fruits in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavour with bready malts, some booze. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet and bready in the finish, some alcohol warmth. Pretty so so.

Bottle split at the pre GBBF Shindig '18, thanks, 04/08/14. Hazed amber pour with a decent light beige cap. Nose is tangy fruit rinds, brown bread, spice, toffee. Taste comprises sticky fruits, straw, grains, light yeast, spice, fruit loaf. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for the style.
