Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a deep hazy beige color ale with a nice foamy head and good retention. Aroma of bitter and floral hops is dominating and quite enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix between some caramel malt with some floral hops and a medium bitter finish. Good carbonation with full body and well balance for the style.

12oz’er bottled on 07/03/06 consumed about a year later. Dark to darkest pour and thin brown head. I usually take in the aroma before a taste but just the look of this beer overcame me and demanded a sip (I’m weak). Cripes! This luscious a taste shouldn’t be legal. OK, back to the aroma. The nose is pretty darn big with some bourbon, wood, rich coffee mixed with sweet molasses, dark chocolate, burnt malts and brownies swimming in a thin layer of alcohol. This elixir sludges across my palate with a thick ponderous mouth feel. The taste is much like aroma with bourbon, oak and alcohol starting off. Then the sweeter notes arrive with molasses, sweetened coffee then hints of caramel and toffee. Into the finish the burnt flavors build into sort of burnt fudge brownies sensation. Wow, the after taste goes on forever. YUMM!

355 ml (12 fl oz) bottle, bought at Peckham’s, Glasgow. ABV is 5.0%. Amber colour, large to moderate head with an orange hue. Nice sweetish aroma of malts and plenty of fruity hops, hints of molasses. The flavour is surprisingly short, some fruity hops but a moderate bitterness, biscuity notes.

Slight hazy iced tea color. Had a creamy almost yellow head initially but it fades rapidly. Barely any aroma, quite surprising for an IPA. Usually they let you know they are IPA with their pine or floral hop smell. If I smell hard enough there is a some clean orange hoppiness about it. Initial taste is strongish APA or mild IPA. Some odd fruitiness with each taste. What can I say about a style that has become so numerous? Bitter medicinal finish. As expected for this harsh ill mannered style. I’m the wrong guy to look to if you want to build IPA ratings. Let me tell you, I wasn’t excited about this when I was given a bottle. Will not acquire again.

Poured a translucent straw gold with zero head. Smells of citrus and slight yeast and straw. Flavor is yeasty with a different type of malt flavor, candy like sugar and mild citrus fruit. Finish is smooth and not at all bitter. Drinkable, but a bit of an imitation.

Poured a deep translucent orange with a large, frothy, foamy slightly off white head. Aroma is crazy, spicy, yeasty, floral, with maybe a faint hint of ocean breeze in the back. Flavor is heavy on the yeast, banana, sweet candy and barnyard funk. Barnyard funk? Try this beer and you’ll learn the definition. The finish was a tad chalky, but flavors are clean. Very unique. I don’t typically like Belgian style ales, but this is as close to a true Belgian beer as you’ll find in America. All the others are imposters, this is an origional.

75 cL bottle thanks to henrikb. Pours dark brown/amber with a light off-white head. Malty aroma with a hoppy whiff. Somewhat chemical alcohol aroma, bourbon I guess I should call it. Flavour is dark malty, alcohol and liqourice. Dry flavour. Nice

Bottled. A hazy red-brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of straw, fruit, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with a thick malt presence and notes of nuts, straw, and caramel.

bottle - Pours hazy gold with a two finger, white head. It smells of citrus, Belgian yeast, and ample hops. The flavor is definitely led by the hops though the sweetness of a Belgian ale lurks in the background. This medium bodied beer has a bitter hops finish that’s really quite nice.
