Description
Open since 2000, Moat Mountain Smoke House is a 174-seat brewpub, restaurant, and inn located in one of North Conway's most historic buildings. In addition to our flagship location, we recently restored the Limmer Barn in Intervale, NH, opening the Moat Mountain Brewing Company Brewery Barn and Cannery in 2013.
Our speciality craft beers are distributed across Maine, Massachusetts, and of course, New Hampshire for everyone to enjoy in the majority of our New England home.
Our smokehouse prides itself on having a predominant in-house, scratch recipes sourced from local resources right here in North Conway.
Whether you're coming in to sit down with the family, or meeting some friends for beers and apps, you're welcomed at our brew pub to enjoy all ends of the spectrum of hospitality, great beers, and some amazing eats.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: semi-hazy burnt orange color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: danky earthy, floral and melon-like hops with a clean malt bill
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to bittersweet earthy and malty quality; finishes slightly floral and melon-like
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable, good smoothness but also some hop bitterness assertiveness but not too much - just noticeable
Overall: nice enough IPA - somewhat like a cross between an IPA and a NEIPA.

Thanks Kevin for the can!
Poured into a snifter.
Appearance: pours dark brown but appears closer to black in the glass with a one and a half fingers of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee roast, dark fruits, treacle, milk chocolate and dark chocolate; sweet wafers underneath
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet dark fruity to a chocolatey malty sweetness flanked by a delicate roastiness; lingering finish of dark fruity, chocolatey, and subtle roasty coffee-ish tones
Texture: medium to full bodied, good sipper, robust smoothness, no roasty or anything grinding into the tongue
Overall: great old school-ish RIS. Man, they don't make 'em like this anymore.

On draft, no head at all. Sickly sweet molasses, brown sugar, minimal hop bitterness, unbalanced, missing the malt smoothness in favour of thin sugar sweetness

Brewery draught, 12/5/25.
Lightly-to-moderately hazy, drab brass-bronze-golden with a small, white head.
Fruity, lightly woody and lightly piney, but not any significant resin. Some fruity yeast, but not intensely so.
More of a West Coast with a chewy, hazy texture and perhaps more all-around fruitiness. Still a good deal of pine and wood with light spice. Maybe a touch too much of all of that overall, but very competent nonetheless.

Brewery draught, 12/5/25.
Mostly clear, bright goldenrod with a small, but firm, white head.
Fruity with leafy, earthy, peppery hops that are similarly bright like the Clockwork Mandarina. Yeast is very tasteful, better than Chouffe Dobbelen, with less crude ester/phenol. Just some fruitiness, lighter white pepper and a bit of stone fruit. Biscuity malts gently balance.
Fruity, medium-bodied with excellent malt depth and attenuation. Herbal, grassy and floral hops aren't my favorite, but there's significantly lower crude yeast character than most Belgian beers of this style. Nice snappy, malty, fruity finish.

Brewery draught, 12/5/25, as pictured.
Bright and hoppy with fresh, fruity and citrusy hops with a touch of pine and grass. Cracker and light honey-like malt gently balances. Yeast is fruity but not too heavily estery. Just a real fresh, bright, highly aromatic hoppiness to it.
Same in flavor. Good medium, malty body with good attenuation and fruity, brightly citrusy hops with balanced bitterness and a clean finish. Usually hate Mandarina Bavaria hops, but they are done tastefully here (not overboiled).

Brewery draught 12/6/25.
Clear golden with a small, but somewhat firm, white head.
Smells the part with an excellent, authentic yeast signature and good malt character without too much breadiness. Mild but evident, herbal and grassy hops. Reasonably crisp in the end.
Similar flavors with a lighter but not thin body and ample malt. Yeast and hop lighten the fairly dry finish. Clean, flavorful, drinkable.
