Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

Cask at Cask and Vine. Dark brown/black color with a decent sized tan head that persists. Rich chocolate caramel and light fruit with just a touch of roasted grain. Pretty tasty stout.

Draft at Throwback in a sample glass. Clear gold with thin lasting white head. Aroma shows me cereal grain, cranberries, hop notes, and moderate ginger root.

Flavor is ginger right up front, traces of berries and make a baked apple hint. Body is the lighter side of medium with a normal carbonation level. Aftertaste has some lingering ginger and low hop profile. This is normally offered around the Christmas season and was surprised to see this on draft. It does have very festive character to it.

Draft at Throwback. Crystal clear gold, no head. Nose has wood, mild funk, and a light level of cherry. Taste much the same as the aroma lead by the tart cherries; funk comes from the oak/ tannin character.

Aftertaste has strong oak leading into a very dry texture. Overall, this is exactly as it should be. Medium level of tartness. I really like that the brewer has been barrel aging beers. Very positive step forward, very exciting!

Draft at Throwback. Very mild carbonation on a deep dark brown color/ almost black. Aroma has mild sugar with some light roast, some chocolate.

Flavor was a nice little surprise, starts with cinnamon, nutmeg, and turns into a carrot like nuance in the center. Texture is dry roast with a mild lingering cinnamon. Carbonation level gives a slight smoothness over the palate. Overall, this was very creative and does have a carrot cake nuance. NOT a novelty, it works well.

Draft at Throwback. Hazy golden color, lasting head. Aroma is great! Tropical fruits, salt and citrus fruit. The dry-hopping carries over with the fruit right upfront in the flavor. The slat is just a light note toward the backend. It has a mild Gose-like character. The body is light and very crisp. Spirited carbonation level giving a nice mouthfeel.

The bitterness is low to not here at all. Very fruity and the salt gives a nice added element. This was a very nice surprise. I enjoyed this a lot and would fill a growler of this.

Draft at Throwback. Aroma is very mild, mild earthy hints, chocolate with just a trace of spruce. The flavor is a whole other thing all together. Blast of spruce right up front with the spruce lasting the entire sip. Like ground up Christmas trees used in the boil. Mild juniper hints. The body is medium with a lower carbonation level.

The bitterness is also herbal. Got to say, the name if very Appropriate. You have to really like spruce, major spruce bomb!! Wow, snap!

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown/ black color, head died fast after the pour. Aroma is mild oat flakes, dark grains and mild chocolate.

The flavor is a nice balance of sweetness from the honey with just a touch of roasted malt. The Oatmeal nearly gives it a full feel over the palate with an oily / slickness that I would say is the honey. Pretty easy drinking.

Draft at the source. Had as a after dinner brew. Black color, Chocolate nose with mild pepper, mole spice.

Flavors starts with cinnamon, followed by chili pepper, herbal tea leaves. Very mild chili heat flavor that has a presence throughout the sip. Heat became noticeable after half a pint. This is a medium bodied beer with low carbonation and a smooth, almost creamy texture. As long as you know this is very spicy and herbal upfront, you will be ok with a sample. Depends on your tolerance of spice.

Draft at the source. Black color, light white thin head, some lace. Good chocolate malt, light bit of earthy herbal malts. Light roasted notes..

Flavor is spot on the style with the rum character almost not even noticeable. Seriously I get a pretty nicely made Black lager here but can’t really pick out any rum notes. More dry texture, medium to light body. Lighter smooth carbonation level.
