Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

Cask at BSF Bar GBBF, Tuesday 9th August 2016 Hazy gold with very little aroma, tangy and tart in fact this comes across as more peachy than cherry and if truth be told it is a little disappointing. I picked this at random and now wish I had gone for something else. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

32 oz. Growler from the source, split 3 ways. Deep brown in color. Aroma is mild roastiness, light chocolate, the faintest coconut.

The flavor is has mild roasted back bone with a lighter side of medium body. Mild carbonation level. Dry roasted texture from the roast. The coconut is just a mild after thought toward the finish. Overall pretty easy to drain a pint.

8 oz. draft @ Throwback. Dark crimson pour with ruby highlight, weak head. Aroma is light plum, red grapes, mild oak.

Flavor is kind of grape jammy. Plum is kind of tuff to find under the huge grape notes. Plum is normally very delicate anyhow. Body is a tad on the light side with a mildly tannic funky oak hint. Pleasant to drink, tannic oak is subtle. However, you have to like red wine to enjoy this.

8 oz. draft @ Throwback. Good lace. Nose is a true blend of wheat, melon pulp and tropical hops.

Malt base is bready with some sweetness, and somewhat chewy in texture. Tropical hops with a hint of that German yeast. Worth a try for sure, easy to drink.

Draft pour into shaker pint glass. Aroma is roasted malts. Appearance is virtually black (dark red--mahogany--when held to the light) with 1/2 finger-width light brown head with fair retention and minimal lacing. Taste is mix of sweet and bitter roasted malts with some smokey/ash. I wouldn’t say there’s chocolate or coffee but the roasted quality suggests the mix you’d get with these. Palate is medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation and dry, mild roasted finish. Overall, enjoyable across the board and not too heavy.
