Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

Draft at the source. 8 oz glass shows deep brown color. Aroma is huge licorice with mild chocolate. The flavor shows a large licorice bite. Anise is strong in this one. Body is the lighter side of medium. Some mild roast, real mild. You need to like star anise to enjoy this stout.

8 oz. sample at the source. Cloudy bright yellow color. Aroma is grapefruit, flaked oats and pale milled grain.

The body is medium to full with a grainy texture in a fuller than medium body. The oats really add to the body. The hop profile gives plenty of citrus character with a lasting bitter finish. I like this experimentation with the oats! Only, downside is the bitterness gets borderline abrasive after 8 ounces.

4 oz. sample at the source. Hazy golden color. Aroma is honey, orange zest and wheat. The body is on the lighter side with a sweet orange citrus finish. The citrus lingers for a bit after the sip. It displays a good amount of oranges and yeast.

4 oz. sample at the source. Color is a pink or purple in tone, thin white fast dying head. Aroma is a light earthy red beet and a mild soil note.

The flavor is the direct reflection of the aroma, beet, beet and more beets with a lightly lingering earthy note in the finish. Body is light and easy for summer drinking. Stacey liked it enough for a 8 oz. sample. Overall it does have a drinkable quality.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Hazy yellow to light orange color, small white head. Aroma is quite sweet, sweet ripe fruits and even a sweet hint of candy. Flavor however is indeed sour, but a nice sourness mixed with some peachy sweetness. Not bad, but I didn’t get those tart cherries. Probably a good thing though, cause I don’t really like that.

Tap at Cask and Vine Slightly hazy deep blonde color with a minimal bubbly white head. The aroma threw me for a bit, wasn’t aware this was sour when I ordered it. Lemony fruity tart on the nose with bits of light pitted fruit. Faint bready malt but mostly sout and lactic tart. Fairly dry finish. Pretty tasty tart ale.

Cask at BSF Bar GBBF, Tuesday 9th August 2016 Hazy gold with very little aroma, tangy and tart in fact this comes across as more peachy than cherry and if truth be told it is a little disappointing. I picked this at random and now wish I had gone for something else. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
