Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

Sample at EBF 2016 Slightly hazy light golden color. Earthy spicy light resinous hops with a bit of light bready malt. Light earthy funkiness adds a bit of complexity. Not too shabby.

Sample at EBF 2016 Solid dark brown color. Big spicy tannic tea on the nose and in the flavor. The malt isn’t big enough to stand up to the spice treatment here. Just OK.

Keg pour from Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Aroma is dominated by jalapeno pepper with some malt. Appearance is clear yellow with mild sparkle, nice head and lacing. Taste is dominated by the spicy jalapeno. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average to lively carbonation, spicy. Overall, kudos for being interesting and unique. But, it is so dominated by the spiciness that it is a bit of a one-trick pony. Would go great with Mexican food or if you like spicy, hot anything or if you want the odd experience but can’t imagine having with any regularity.

Tap at Cask and Vine Hazy medium golden color with a decent rocky white head. Initially spicy but that became more earthy citrus hoppiness as the pint went down. Rustic earthy with a light yeasty funk and hints of lemon round this one out nicely. Not to shabby.

Refrigerated brown bomber from AirForceHops poured into a weizen glass. Orange/light brown with medium off-white head. Aroma is clove and some banana, medium body, medium carbonation, and some light lacing. Taste is darker wheat malt, clove, and some banana. On the darker side of the color scale for hefeweizen, good stuff.
