Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

22 oz. bottle purchased at Village Market, Hampton Falls. Deep brown color in my pint glass. Very thin beige head that left light lace. Smoke on the nose for sure! Flavors of coca powder, chocolate, mild traces of toffee and smoke throughout the sip. Mild lingering smoke after the sip. Soft level of carbonation with a Medium body. I have to admit, smoked is NOT something I drink often. Not a style I normally enjoy. But Throwback has one here that I can share with a friend and not be put off.

Bottle thanks to PhatDog1. Pours black with tan head. Nose is mostly peanuts - shells and all- and organic peanut butter with some cocoa, roasted chocolate and toasted black malt. Body is on the lighter side of medium for the style. Dry roasted peanut finish. Nose and taste is over 90% peanut. The most peanut forward beer I’ve ever had. Overall, I really enjoyed drinking this beer. If the body were a little thicker and the roasted chocolate malts were more pronounced this would be a real winner. That said, while I only rated this a 3.6, I’d rather drink it than a lot of imperials that I’ve rated a 3.8/3.9, so I definitely recommend this.

Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Smoky maple, chocolate, and creamy mocha aroma. Deep mahogany with a moderate tan head. Maple, coffee malt, caramel, and earthy ash flavor. Medium body and carbonation. My family runs a small maple syrup operation, so I’m all about the maple. This is an interpretation of a porter that works well for me.

Pours a lightly hazy medium golden straw color with a huge fluffy bone white head that persists forever. Smells of clove and other assorted yeasty esters along with a sweet honey like malt and a mild wheat spice aroma. The flavor is sharp with a hit of fruity tart with a solid dose of clove. Light apple and cherry fruits with a light sweet light sugary malt flavor. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sharp sweet tart mouthfeel. Decent brew, I could certainly entertain the thought of drinking this on a warm day.

22 oz. bottle. Used a pilsner glass. Nose is all Pepper. The taste is mild, bready malt with a blast of jalapeño. And I mean a BLAST! Damn, I really respect the women brewing beer at Throwback but for me; this beer is one dimensional and kind of unpleasant. I don’t like drinking jalapeño water. Sorry Nicole, I can’t buy another bottle of this.
