Description
We are always busy creating taste sensations, always looking for improvements or new flavours and optimizing our beers. Our beer is pronounced, complex, balanced, often full and soft in texture. We don’t brew beer for everyone, we only brew beer for people who love pronounced flavours. We do this by constantly tinkering with our recipes in search of perfection, we want to brew beer that is considered legendary. One has to tell stories about how great the beer of the Moersleutel is. Anyone who drinks our beer must be spoiled for life and must want nothing more.

Bottle. Black oily pour, unsurprisingly. Aroma of soft smokey peat, salty licorice, chocolate and roasted/caramelised malt. Taste has salty licorice, smoke, soft peat, bitter roasted malt, booze, chocolate, coffee and a boozy finish. The barrel aging is done well, but the beer could use more complexity.

Bottle @ home shared with Caesar and Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, average sized light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, nice but firm whiskey influence, dark malts, Taste malts, dark malts, again heavy whiskey but I like this one better than the Aultmore version, somehow slightly more balanced, malt bitter, bitter. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle @ home shared with Caesar and Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige to slightly brown colored head. Aroma is malts, whiskey, a bit over the top barrel aged / over the top whiskey. Taste malts, whiskey, again over the top liquor, peat, too much sharp barrel aging in there, a bit alcoholic, quite bitter. Body is decent to medium, carbonation is decent. Solid for sure, but a bit (too) heavy.

Batch 23. Fresh, hoppy, bittersweet and super fruity. They should keep doing these with other hops as well. So yes, I do!

Bottle. Thick oily pour. Aroma of roasted malt, booze, licorice, coffee, subtle earthy vanilla and choco. Flavor of bitter licorice, earthy coffee, booze, berries, subtle vanilla and chocolate. Nice thick oil, but was hoping for more vanilla and less licorice.
