Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

Pours a clear lager gold with a small white head. Aroma is strong for a lager with citrus to the fore. Beer is dry & bitter with the mandarin fairly strong. Good if you like a more bitter lager with added citrus. I'm not a fan.

Can from lowcostbeer.com. Hazy orange with small white top. Juicy aroma orange and tropical fruit salad, strawberry does come through, malts quite notable. Taste is quite grainy and malt focused at first but then a fruity hop burst does come through, orange, mango and kiwi most notable. Green onion in the finish. Near medium bodied, refreshing, semi-dry. Decent.

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com. Light cloudy gold with small white top. Gooseberry, icing sugar, bready pale malts on the nose. Taste of flora, candy, grape, honey, spice, bold bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to frothy carbonation, semi-drying. An interesting take on the style, a little rough around the edges .but decent flavours.

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com, cant locate the BBE. Clear gold with small white top, nice consistency with lacing. Fruit salad on the nose followed by sour lemon. Flavour of light sour sherbet lemon and softer pithy fruitiness in the taste, some grains. Light, crisp, refreshing, fruity with some dryness. Best Berliner weisse I've had so far not that I have had many.

330ml bottle. Look - slight hazy dark gold, small white head, ok retention. Aroma - malts and orange citrus, passionfruit and mango. Taste - a nice mix of the malts, tropical and orange notes, with a clean zesty tang and a moderate bitterness which offsets the sweetness. Well balanced. Palate - medium body, good bite, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.
