Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

Been ages since I've had an Enzed beer. Europe seems to have stopped importing them, sad. This is good! Classic old money English stout, heavy style.

From a 330ml can on 2/7/2025. Pours a deepest brown with a small tan head. The nose is lovely - strong fresh coffee with a touch of smoke. It's complex on the sip - coffee dominates but there's lots of dark and milk chocolate, some smoky notes, and nice sharpish roasty bitterness at the back. Easy drinking for such a big bopper, and probably good that it comes in a little can. The palate is slightly syrupy, the carbonation average. A bold, flavoursome, excellent big winter sipper.

Pours.a slightly murky gold, from the orange juice I guess with a minor white head. Aroma is almost sour beer, fruit & perhaps the bitters. Beer is off dry, fruity and the bitters you can taste but there is almost zero actual bitterness. A fruit stile beer, easy to drink and probably greart in summer. Not bad even in the midst of a late autumn severe storm!
