Description
Calvors Brewery was created in 2008 to brew proper English Lagers, without compromise! We have been crafting award-winning beers ever since, becoming known for our distinctive take on the much-celebrated lager styles of Europe. Sure, we're passionate about lager, but we also love a good ale and brew a growing selection of international styles. Calvors beers challenge the flavour and integrity of mass-produced brews and you won't find any of those nasty chemicals or preservatives. We brew by hand using only four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast.

Can from Lidl, Brooklands. Aroma had piney hops over yer standard yeasty lager. Hazy gold. Thin creamy translucent white head. Medium bitter with a big sour citrus streak, undone by very noticeable malts and soggy cardboard. Light. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent. It's... OK. A tad odd.

330ml can; BB 11th Mar 2022. Drank at home on 1st Jul 2021. Bright, clean and clear golden body, off-white head that stayed around, unlike most lagers. Good hop bitterness to this dry tasting brew, a whole lot better than I was expecting!

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 16/05/21. Deep mahogany brown with a fast escaping tan cap that settles to the edge of the glass. Nose is brown bread, herbal notes, hint of treacle toffee. Taste comprises tangy slightly soured fruit esters, brown sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Rather flabby and lacking any great flavour.

LCI from 12/4/2021. I actually thought these were a German brewery when I purchased! 😂 Pine, malt, citrus, oat & dull hop tastes. Lacklustre.

Thin beige head left a cover on a dark reddish brown still body. Malt, berry & jam aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a limp back. Berry, malt, jam, blackcurrant & very sweet fruity tastes. What a poor Baltic Porter
