Cask at the brewpub. It pours black with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, bakewell tart, cherry jam and coffee cake. The taste is rich roasted malt, cocoa, coffee grounds, ripe cherry, raspberry pip and toast with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I gather they have tweaked the recipe on this one and is a good deal better than that samples by the previous reviews. A nice cherry porter.

Cask handpull at St Andrews Norwich. Haze gold lasting white head. Malty aroma. Some peach and apricot fruit condition is ok. Again not fully attenuated . Pretty poor

Cask handpull at St Andrews Norwich. Haze amber. Lasting beige head. Malty burnt toffee aroma. Bit flat. Thats horrible. Can’t remember the last time i had a beer this bad. Not attenuated. Lots of raw wort in this. Wow terrible. Undrinkable.

On tap at St Andrews Norwich. Hazy very pale gold. No head. Apple juice and sauvignon blanc aroma. Apple juice flavour. Mid sweetness. Not much character over a cloudy apple fruit juice. Ok.

Keg tap at St Andrews Brewhouse, Norwich. Golden, clear with a rampant white head and loads of lacing. Apricot and grass aroma. Sweet taste, sweeter than I’ve had expected. Turns slightly more bitter in the finish. Massive dose of peaches and cream in the aftertaste. It’s a bit blander than I like but there are some surprisingly nice flavours in this.

Keg at the brewpub. Pours deep amber with a mellow, creamy tan head. There’s a bit of smoke in the nose, a little meat, toasted grains. Light-medium sweet flavor with impressions of holiday spices, ripe orange, smoked ham, brown bread, caramel. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish with some spicy rye, faint earthy bitterness, burnt grains, brown bread. Interesting beer. Pretty drinkable. Good amount of character given the strength.

Cask at the brewpub. Pours clear orange-gold with a slight, foamy white head. The nose has citrusy hops, lightly buttered biscuits, straw. Light sweet flavor with more biscuity pale malts,a little dough and butter, tangerine, straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation; pretty good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish with further doughy pale malts, biscuits, some bitter hay and grass, citrusy accents. A nice hoppy golden ale.
