(Cask at Gallow's Bird Real Ale Festival 2020) The beer poured deep mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, toffee and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, earth, toffee, caramel and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A beer leaning heavily on the sweet side but fortunately not too much. The toasted malts restored some of the balance.
