Bath Ales
Commercial Brewery
in Bristol,
Bristol,
England 🏴
Owned by
St. Austell Brewery
Associated Venue: Graze Bar, Brewery & Chophouse (Bath Ales)
Established in 1995
Moved to Siston Lane, Bristol in the summer of 1999.
Having outgrown these premises a further relocation to their current site at Units 3-7 Caxton Industrial Estate, Crown Way, Warmley, Bristol was carried out during March 2004.
A 50 barrel brewplant is used. A small on-site brewery was installed at their new (2013) Graze pub in Bath and was used to brew Platform 3 beer (originally 5.7%, latterly 4.5%) and the occasional special.
The beers branded as Beerd were from a small-batch plant within the main brewery at Warmley.
Mid 2016 brewery bought out by St. Austell brewery, with the inevitable cessation of the Beerd brand and the brew plant in Bath.
Production of Bath Ales cask range has been reduced to just Gem, with the spare capacity used by St. Austell for overflow production of Tribute and other St. Austell beers.
Since late 2025 Bath Ales became just a brand of St. Austell

On keg at the Totnes Brew Company. Appearance - golden with a light head. Nose - light sweetcorn and green beans. Taste - honey and corn syrup. Biscuit. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture. The finish could be fresher. Overall - too sweet in the end.

Keg @ The Jube, Woolacombe after a walk along the coast from Mortahoe. Pours clear gold, small white head. Aroma is fresh with very light citrus, grapefruit. Taste is crisp, fresh, citrussy, served suitably cold for a hot day like today. Very refreshing, balanced session IPA, just hoppy enough.

Keg at the Victoria Inn, Salcombe, 22/06/19. Clear golden with a big old white head ... lots of carbonation on display. Nose is pale malts, cereals, hint of lemon, breads. Taste comprises light perfume, lemon sherbet, faint tangerine, light hop trace, grass, pale malts. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent refreshing lager on a hot midsummer's day.

25/6/2019. Bottle from Tesco, Port Solent. Colour is slightly hazy golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, grass and lychee. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Nice bittersweet orangey finish. Enjoyed this.
