Poured from a bottle courtesy of floozbag. Aroma is very hoppy with a lot of grapefruit and pine resin. Some medium light toasted bread and caramel notes with light cracker. Some light orange and tropical fruit notes as well. Pours a murky, dark, brownish red with a medium large, thick, slightly tan head that slowly recedes. Medium high lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some caramel and toasted bread. Some cracker and biscuit notes as well. Medium high bitterness. Moderate hop notes of grapefruit and pine resin. Some medium light orange with light tropical fruit. A hint of alcohol spice. Some lingering malt notes and hop resin. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a surprisingly nice red ale. Lots of hops that work well with the malt profile. Malt isn’t too sweet which is nice.

Bottle shared at dbarnold's, 10/31/15. 070715 date, so I assume this is the correct entry. Orange pour with a foamy off white head. Clean coffee aroma. Some herbal and pine hops. Balanced and smooth. Coffee, light sweet, and a light bitterness. Average carbonation. Would happily drink this again.

42nd Floor Tasting. Many thanks to Paul for more fresh hoppy goodness. Hazy yellow - gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Dank skunky hoppy nose. Spicy orange hops, tropical fruits, floral pine. Mild Mosaic passion fruit comes to the fore. Some minty spice before a light semi dry finish. Very nice.

Dark ebony pour with some deep magenta highlights on the edges. Clarity indeterminable, but seems like a decent clarity as the glass gets lower. Tan head is large but slowly recedes to cover.
Fudge, prunes, heavy chocolate malt and a strong but not overbearing coffee character in the nose. For 9% abv, it’s pretty well-hidden, no doubt the thick maltiness having a say in that. Vanilla, light char and just a pinch of green, fruity, spicy hops that break through. No flaws, or anything weird going on here, but yet it dosent seem Imperial in the sense of having a massive roast or vinous character. Actually quite subdued (which is fine).
Richly malty and sweet, no doubt with lots of gooey fudge but also some baker’s chocolate-like bittersweet character to balance. Coffee helps dry it out as well, but like others mention, I think they are forgoing a big roasted barley/black malt addition and trying to let the coffee do that work. Which is fine, but the coffee gets a little lost in the shuffle, as far as adding a good deal of roastiness. No problem, though, no one says all stouts have to be overly roasty. Some light char, soy, vanilla and, like the recent batches of Pot and Kettle and Day and Night, just a wonderfully expressed coffee character that is really nicely balanced with the rest of the beer. Rich, not quite syrupy texture, with a good deal of restraint on the booze character. Light prunes, bakers chocolate and a touch of green, almost herbal-like hop character on the end. A bit of doughiness and also some tanginess from the coffee sort of detract from the overall picture and though it’s a tough balancing act, I could see it using a bit more dryness overall. Nonetheless, a fine beer and chalk full of delicious coffee flavors without anything being overdone or excessive here (save perhaps the fudgy sweetness). Carbonation is mostly tight. No flaws, very light alcohol apparency.

[ As Trillium / Other Half Green Street ].Unclear matt medium yellow orange color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, grass, fruity hops, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, caramel, grass, orange, orange peel, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
