Description
Trillium Brewing Company was founded by JC and Esther Tetreault, a young dumb couple in love, planning their wedding and dreaming about how they would spend their lives together. The desire to build a brewery was about more than just making beer, it was about creating a way of life and building a community with which to share experiences. A beer geek and botany nerd, JC chose the trillium flower to represent what we strive to bring to our beer and our lives: beauty, strength, simplicity, and balance. We operate a brewery and taproom in Canton, MA as well as a full service restaurant and brewery in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston. We also operate seasonal pop-up beer gardens around the city of Boston under the Trillium Garden project.

16 ounce can from Libby’s Liquors. Hazy yellow gold color. Massive creamy white head. Aromas of dank citrus and apricot. First sip is sweet and juicy. Hints of orange, grapefruit, lemon and mango. Plenty of hops here. As the brew warms, the dank, stickiness comes out. Lots of grapefruit pith and pine on backend. Somewhat smooth for 9% ABV.

Pours slight hazed gold into an english pint. White soapy head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Caramel and pine aromas. Soft with sweet pineapple and papaya upfront turning to pine and cedar in before the lasting pith finish.

Pours clear yellow gold into an English pint. Bright white soapy head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Fresh squeezed lime aromas. Crisp with key lime pie and summer berries front to back. Medium length pie crust finish. A little too much lime for my taste.

500ml bottle from Libbey’s Liquors. Dark brown pour is topped by a brief tan head that settles to a scant ring. Roasted malt aroma has notes of toffee and vanilla. Flavor is sweet roasted malt and vanilla. Reminds me of the best waffle I ever had at a Waffle House just off of Route 78 outside of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Smooth, roasty and sweet. Quite delicious, if you ask me.

Fort Point draught, 6/5/26.
Very floral but not in a bad way. Light and airy. No sign of pine or grapefruit rind. No allium, low woodiness. Dainty honey and white bread-like malt. None of the NE yeast mustiness nor any chalky dry hop.
Fruity and juicy with a touch of woodiness leading to a round, flavorful blueberry character. Supple malts with good depth and attenuation. Nice balance of bitterness. Very easygoing, modern take on the style. Love the Mosaic treatment which Trillium always does well.

Fort Point draught, 6/5/26.
Earthy mineral with tropical fruit rind. White bread like malts easily balance. Low acidity and a very round, juicy, citrus fruitiness on the end.
Big grapefruit up front with a ton of earthiness. Crusty, cracker malts and some chewy white bread ample balance. More dry, bitter finish. Balanced and well-made but not super compelled by mostly grapefruit and earthiness.

Fort Point draught, 6/5/26.
Fresh, zesty herb and snappy malts with yeast crackling on the finish. Not as much mineral as, say, a Czech Pils, but that's not the style.
Pretty deep malt but there's a bit of paper-like blandness. White bread and light herb collide with a fair bit, but not too much sweetness. Black pepper lingering. Maybe the slight off flavors are the Canadian yeast? A bit too true to style!

16 ounce can from Libby’s Liquors. Fully hazed yellow gold color. Rocky white head. Room filling floral hop aroma hints at melon, peach and mango. Flavors of bittersweet citrus and lemon pith are balanced by light biscuity malt and honeyish notes. Finishes dry and peppery.
