Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours black with a vague orange hue and no head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and a little tar and manure. Solid body, very astringent burned malts, metal and blood - tar, tobacco and iodine, really skewed with an underlying tartness. Malt bitter finish. 090410

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has weird notes of spices, blue cheese, and caramel - I don’t like blue cheese in a beer aroma. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of blue cheese, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry finish, where the cheese notes lingers. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London on 25th February 2011. Slightly hazy amber with a tiny dying head. Thick cheesy yeasty aroma. Rich hoppiness in mouth, slight savoury note. Berry friut and grassy hop later then a rich hoppy and rounded end with some honey and cheesiness alongside chutney and caramel maltiness. Tangy note lingers. Lovely pint, had two.

Bottle at the Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Brown, lasting beige head. Syrupy aroma. Malts aren’t great. Bit too syrupy to be honest.
