Description
First brewed in Summer 2008. Beers under the badge "Chideock Brewery", but coming from the same source were seen in May 2012. Brewery location North End Farm, Venn Lane, North Chideok. By 2014 the brewery had ceased brewing on its own equipment while seeking new premises. In the meantime it is believed that some beers are being brewed on an occasional basis at Sherfield Village brewery. In 2016 brewing recommenced at a new location in Devon. Brewing ceased again during 2020 with production moving back to Sherfield Village.

Cask, gravity at the White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks 08-08-09 on leg seven of the Thames Tipple Pours light amber with a white bubbly surface coating masquerading as a head. Some malt on nose touch of sweet fragrance also. The taste is like bitter honey, really tangy, the bitterness really bites. This is quite a zappy IPA, good hoppy stuff, very enjoyable but I slightly preferred the Acorn Woodstock, LOz on the other hand loved this and had a pint and a half. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 18/07/09. Amber with a tight white head that left rings down the glass. Same aroma as the Monkey IPA of spicy hops, oranges and sweet malts. Flavour of citrus and sweet malts. Where it differed from the Monkey was that the hint of pine was replaced by some hints of ginger and chilli in the finish. These were perhaps too gentle. The Monkey was preferable.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 16/07/09. I was enjoying the evening too much at his point, so my notes are brief. A dark brown beer with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, brown sugar, a hint of rum and some roastiness. Flavour had some cereal up front, sweetish fruit, roasted malts and a decent bitter finish. A lot going on and pleasant for it.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 13/06/09. Amber with a tight white head that left rings down the glass. Aroma of spicy hops, oranges and sweet malts. Flavour had more of the same with some pine resin, prickly mouth feel and a long dry finish. The "monkey" in question is Chris, the manager of the Royal Oak, who appears on the pump clip. Very good.
