Description
First brewed in Summer 2008. Beers under the badge "Chideock Brewery", but coming from the same source were seen in May 2012. Brewery location North End Farm, Venn Lane, North Chideok. By 2014 the brewery had ceased brewing on its own equipment while seeking new premises. In the meantime it is believed that some beers are being brewed on an occasional basis at Sherfield Village brewery. In 2016 brewing recommenced at a new location in Devon. Brewing ceased again during 2020 with production moving back to Sherfield Village.

@ Royal Oak. Amber-brown, nice lacing. Toasty, nutty brown ale aroma. Light body, getting a bit creamy and nutty as it goes. Good malt complexity.

@ Royal Oak Twerton. Dead looking dull straw. Herbal and quite spicy hop character. Flat body, but with a fairly rich hop profile that starts woody/mossy but becomes juicier towards the finish.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 20th July 2010. Pale amber with thin diminishing whitish head. Don’t be fooled by the malty aroma as a hop kick strikes like a bolt of bitter lightning across the tastebuds.. Cuttingly bitter with vegetable notes, mainly broad beans; dry mouthfeel and long lasting severe bitterness. An intense pint, packing a real punch!

Cask at the recent White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks ’Coming of Age’ Beer Festival. Murky deep brown coloured pour with virtually no head to speak of. Fruity aroma. Tastes of dark fruit, hops. A rather strange one but drinkable.
