Description
First brewed in Summer 2008. Beers under the badge "Chideock Brewery", but coming from the same source were seen in May 2012. Brewery location North End Farm, Venn Lane, North Chideok. By 2014 the brewery had ceased brewing on its own equipment while seeking new premises. In the meantime it is believed that some beers are being brewed on an occasional basis at Sherfield Village brewery. In 2016 brewing recommenced at a new location in Devon. Brewing ceased again during 2020 with production moving back to Sherfield Village.

Gravity cask at the Birmingham beer fest. Poured very dark brown with a medium head. Aroma was chocolate, roasted malt with some blackcurrant coming through at the end. Taste was blackcurrant throughout with lots of roasted malt at the end. Bit sweet in the finish.

Cask, Royal Oak, Twerton. Cloudy tan. Vaguely malty aroma. Malt-accented. Lacks spice, but with a touch of musty yeastiness as well.

Small coarse offwhite head. Amber body, very faintly hazy. Nutty gingery aroma with earthy floral notes. Dry-sweet earthy floral fruity taste with resiny gingery notes. Mid-bodied. Hottish, peppery mouthfeel. Dry strawy earthy fruity aftertaste with caramel notes. After you swallow it turns really hot and ingery. Dangerously moreish because of it. (0.5pt cask at The Rake, London.)

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 6 Aug 2010) Golden amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots and floral hops. Fruity taste with apricots, orange and floral hops in the finish. Light body, mainly dry. On the thin side and I expected a bit more of a hop punch, but it’s a fairly tasty and quite nice beer.

@ Royal Oak. Golden-amber. Floral, citrusy aroma with light caramel notes. Floral-chewy character with some late alcohol muscle, a bit unusual in an English pint.

at Royal Oak. Dark brown colour. Rich chocolate aroma with light coffee accents. Chocolatey taste - a bit thin but it's cask. Complex maltiness in the finish. Nice one!
