Description
First brewed in Summer 2008. Beers under the badge "Chideock Brewery", but coming from the same source were seen in May 2012. Brewery location North End Farm, Venn Lane, North Chideok. By 2014 the brewery had ceased brewing on its own equipment while seeking new premises. In the meantime it is believed that some beers are being brewed on an occasional basis at Sherfield Village brewery. In 2016 brewing recommenced at a new location in Devon. Brewing ceased again during 2020 with production moving back to Sherfield Village.

Cask, in the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 13th June 2010. Gold with vanishing white head. Strong sweet vanilla aroma burst; touch of spice then a rich grassy hop finish. Zingy mouthfeel. An acquired taste, but I appreciated how well the beer was crafted, and this fact drove the rating higher.

(Gravicask at Old Fountain, Old Street, London, 20 May 2010) Copper colour with brief, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with citrus and a touch of ginger. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of citrus, ginger, biscuits and a touch of soap. Medium body, balanced sweetness and some citrussy bitterness. Nice and tasty with a certain bite.

Plenty of residual sweetness, bit chewy, hoppy and fruity, can’t say that it’s really my thing but its fine. A6 A2 T7 P3 Ov13 3.1

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 30/03/10. Golden in colour with a slight white head. Sweet, vanilla ice cream float up front, subsiding a bit to give a touch of bitterness in the finish. Seemed more subdued vanilla wise than reputation would suggest, but still not a beer I would rush to try again. Ok.
