Bottle at the Shoulder of Mutton 21.06.12 in company of Peter Fowler who cracked this open, cheers Peter. Chesnut in colour with a slim off-white head that swiftly departed. From the description I understand that there is ginger and coriander in here but they are pleasantly subtle enough not to ruin things. The hoppiness is still there this is lovely and fruity. Like this. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Cask at Euston Tap, 31st May 2012. Looks like a nice pint, good lacing. Taste could be smoother, not the best

Cask at Bristolโ€™s Beerd, 8th May 2012. Not bad, standard clean bitter, a little under whelming on taste but good for a session beer

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is raspberry, charcoal, roasted malt and jam. The taste is raspberry, jammy fruit, varnish, roasted malt, charcoal, toast, spice, treacle and alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The amount of raspberry is just right. Well balanced. One of the best BBF stouts out there.

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin light tan head. The nose is smoked peat, floral, hay, smoke, charcoal, varnish and a touch of cherry. The taste is roasted malt, strong Laphroaig character, hay, floral, peat, smoke, chocolate, caramel and liquorice, with a dry, warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. The beer is pretty dominated by the Whisky, but still enjoyable enough.
