Description
Started brewing in November 2005 using a 5BBL plant using the name The Great Orme Brewery Ltd, Welsh translation Bracdy Y Gogarth, and based at Y Bracdy, Nant-Y-Cywarch Farm, Glan Conwy, Colwyn Bay. At the beginning of 2019, the brewery rebranded and relocated to Mochdre where a 15BBL plant was used. Moved to Llandudno Junction in June 2025.

Cask@GBBF2009. Coppery colour with small beige head. Deep caramelly notes along with notes of nuts and some wood in the aroma. Flavour is nuts, wood, some fruityness as well as some nuttyness. Pleasant and easy to drink.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is quite much plastic and hoppy. Flavour is grass, hoppy fruits and lots of wood. Some slight notes of yeast. Quite wooden aftertaste.

Cask@GBBF2009. Deep golden colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, wood, some slight sourish notes as well. Flavour is pretty much the same. Ending rather bittery. Not much aftertaste, otherwise rather nice.

Bottled@Fonefan (as Extravaganza Ale). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is lots of shepherd neame like earthyness, hoppy, yeasty and mildly fruity. Flavour is fruits, earth and some mild woodenness.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Copper brown color, small steady beige head. Caramelly and nutty aroma. Grassy hops, caramelly nuttyness in the flavor. Very good beer for being only 3.8%.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Golden color, no head. Sweaty resin hoppy nose (not very strong). Citrus, wood hoppy flavor. Dry citrusy-woody aftertaste. Stands in the average crowd of golden ales.

Cloudy orange with chunks. Small white head. Sweet, caramel and fruity aroma. Sweet and fruity flavour, medium hoppy.

50cl bottle @ YNWA. Cloudy amber with sediments floating and a off white head. Rubber, grain, hay, wood and hops. Medium bodied. Quite hoppy and though it has some off flavors its actually pleasant. Ends dry and bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 17/05/09. Reddish-amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and red fruit. Flavour was sweet, with plenty of butterscotch and a short bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear amber with a lacing off-white head. Sweet caramel in the nose. Medium body, sweet caramel and nuts with a whiff of exotic fruits. Dry and lightly bitter finish. Good. 150810

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy amber golden with floating impurities and a rough off-white head. Lightly sweet caramellish nose. Medium body, lightly sweetish roasted malt, a little fruit and caramel before a lightly bitter finish. 5/2/5/2/10=2.4 070209
