Cask at GBBF 2009. OK so I entered this whilst listening to Mozart so it put me in a good mood. Clear amber gold. Lasting beige head. Some decent hop on aroma. Bit light in the mouth, but again decent hop on the finish, ok decent golden ale and I do like the beers from Great Orme, probably my favourite Welsh brewery.

Cask gravity at Ashford Rugby Club BF 2008. Slight haze, no head. Yeasty, bit of green apple, not quite ready. But some yeasty character, bit more green apple, but actually it’s not all bad.

Clear, yellow-golden body. Floral hoppy to the nose. Velvet smooth taste of grapefruit in flavour developing into a quite nice and prolonged bitter ending. Dry palate. Medium bodied. Alright, but does not raise so much above the average level for the English bitter style (sample from gravicask at the Great British Beer Festival, second day 05.08.2009).

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 6 Aug 2009) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, pineapple, grapefruit and a generous citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Refreshing and tasty beer with a very nice and fresh hop character.

on tap at the Kilverts in Hay-on-Wye. Deep golden, nearly amber colour with a small head. Hoppy nose. Malty, slightly fruity and pleasantly hoppy in the finish. Not exciting but still nice.
