Description
The Clun Brewery was founded by Matt Williamson and Jack Limond in 2007 to supply local craft beers to the White Horse in Clun, which Jack has owned since 2001. The brewery started as an upgraded homebrew, brewing 9 gallons at a time with Burco boilers as their water baths. This basic setup gave inconsistent results, and in 2010 they moved into an old garage with two 72 gallon barrels. The extra capacity helped Clun build a local reputation, and their range of beers regularly feature as guest ales in over 60 Shropshire pubs as well as The White Horse.

Gravity poured third of a pint at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on 25th September 2025. One of the best beers I had during the days drinking, clean and clear golden body, white crust on top. Citrus leanings in both the nose and taste, but there was more going on in the background, brady malts traces of resinous pine and a herbal/floral twist or two.

Half-pint at the 32nd Shrewsbury Beer Festival on 26th September 2024. Not all NEIPA's are cloudy, this one certainly isn't. Bright golden body, white affair on top. Semi-sweet tropical fruits with oranges to the fore, gets a little bitter and dry towards the finish, decent.

Bottle, thanks to minutemat, cheers fella! Pours clear amber with an off-white foam. Super malty old school imperial IPA, caramel, pine, a touch boozy. Light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter. Towards dry on the palate. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2023. Not quite the dark beer I expected from the name and pump clip. Deep gold appearance, basic golden malt action with a light hop bitterness. Ok.

Shared third of a pint at the 31st Shrewsbury Beer Festival in St Mary's Church on 28th September 2023. Red hue to the amber body, white head. Malty front with a decent hop bitterness, pleasant and easy going brew for ABV.
