Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. New brewery for me. Clear amber with small beige head. This turned out to be malty and nutty with a bitter grassiness, light dryness. Average.

18/7/2024. Cask at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted, coffee, chocolate, ash, mild BFG cherry notes. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, soft carbonation. More BFG came through to finish. Quite enjoyable.

Hand-pulled half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 26th May 2024. Dark mahogany body, tanned beige head that stuck around. I expected more of everything, light cherry and chocolate flavours but nowhere near enough, or rich enough to taste like a Black Forest Gateau.
