Bottle opened to celebrate Vilija’s graduation from the Brewing Science program at the American Brewer’s Guild, thanks for including us. Pours a bit hazy, but remarkably still plenty of carbonation in this 14 year old corked bottle. Aromas of caramel and brown sugar with lots of sherry notes and a touch or alcohol. No surprises in the flavor. Perhaps a hint past its prime, but I’m thrilled I got to try this and celebrate such a great accomplishment.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with white head. A bit overcarbonated. Nose is fresh blueberry, banana and wheat malt. Taste is same, but muted blueberry. A touch of metal in finish. Lighter medium body.

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. A hazy golden amber pour with scummy cream head; malty aroma; fruity malt taste; with a sweet biscuity finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Cloudy, hazy amber body, thin buff ring. Caramely nose with rubber cement and green apple. Tart body, phenolic with rubber cement and green apples; also some caramels and toast. Very weird.

Bottle. Caramel malt, sweet orange hops, and a light oily petrolium type aroma. Hazy amber with a large off-white head. Herbal hops, citrus peel, and biscuity malt flavor, as well as band-aid, which I suspect is related to that oily aroma. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Stale barley malt aroma. Hazy amber with a small off-white head. Cardboard barley malt, and light bitter hop flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation. Freshest before March indicated on the bottle, which explains the poor flavor.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Tan head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Caramel, oak and rum aromas. Medium bodied with sweet molasses and dried fruit upfront turning to sour pit fruit before the medium length oak finish... wish I’d realized this was from the Newport Storm brewers before purchasing... not a fan...
