Shared 660 ml bottle conditioned, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 9.5%.
Pours pinkish-red with a low and short-lived white head. Lovely hoppy aroma, notes of tropical fruits, hints of spruce. Massively hoppy flavour throughout, fruity notes, spruce and pine. Quite a bit of residual sweetness. Bitter of course, but not as extreme as some American double IPAs.

Cask-conditioned at the Holborn Whippet, 3/11/2012. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, oak and roasted malts. Flavour had a touch of sweetness, coffee beans, and more chocolate leading to a roasty dry finish. Very good.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Dark brown body with a thin grey/tan head. Very faint lacing. Aroma of chocolate, marmalade and roasted malt. Flavour of chocolate ice-cream, coffee, smoke and roasted malt. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Lots of flavour for 4.5% ABV.

From tap at Stockbridge Tap. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is smooth fruity, peachy to grapefruity and peachy. Smooth grapefruity and bitter. Smooth fruity and crisp lingering hoppy finish.

From cask at Marble Arch. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild hoppy and citrusy. Crisp hoppy. Citrusy and mango hopsfruity into a dry and bitter to bone dry finish.

Pours black with ruby highlights and a small head.Nose shows lots of roasted malt with some chocolate notes alongside some softer piny and spicy hops.Pretty aggressively roasty flavours too, more spicy and piny hops as well.Could use more carbonation.Could use more malt to balance the roasted grains and hops.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London during the Second Birthday Party. Pours rich brown with a fine, tan cream head. Dry roasted malts and coffee in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, dry, with minerals, rich coffee, dirt, baking cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, lightly sweet with burnt coffee, earth, and more baking cocoa. Very decent.

Cask at Euston Tap. It pours near black with a medium tan head. The nose is chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, oak, light smoke, tobacco and vanilla. The taste is roasted malt, coffee grinds, cacao, charcoal, toast, light cola and chocolate with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Flavoursome and well balanced.

Cask at The Bishops Arms (Gustav Adolfs Torg) Malmo. Slightly cloudy toffee brown pour with a thin white head and lots of lace. A huge grassy floral aroma. The flavour is big hoppy spicy and bitter which sits nicely on the palate. A really super ale, but I'd love a version with a little extra dry spice.

(Draught at MacKinlay’s Inn, Stockholm) Pale golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with lemon, grapefruit, grass, green grapes and hints of resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit, gooseberries, green grapes, grainy malt and a solid resinous/citric bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Impressive hop presence, but still quite refreshing and easy to drink. Nice one.

Bottle, 15C. Black with an inch of tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, prunes, vanilla. Velvety mouthfeel, but quite astringent - goes from very smooth to a little sharp at each sip. Taste has sweet mocha, dried fruits and vanilla. Earthy and tangy. Slight alcohol burn. Bitterness almost pops out at the end with astringent coffee and late-arriving dried orange peel. Deep and interesting, but doesn’t quite mesh as a whole. Might well come together on keeping, but very good now.
