Burka Liquors, DC 12oz ($1.85): Pours an off-white head over a copper body. Aroma is of a variety of hops: you got citrus, floral, and pine notes in there. The taste has a good amount of bitterness. Pine and citrus present. Leaves some aftertaste, but is not excessively bitter through the finish. Minimal malts in there, thus a little light bodied. Not a brutal IPA, but an interesting one.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA, opened 1/10/10. Pours a dark ruby color with a medium tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of tart malty notes along with some roast and chocolate. The taste is chocolate, roast, berries, bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, but the tartness does seem like its not supposed to be there.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slighty hazy copper color with a medium sized offwhite creamy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of big resiny and tropical hops with some toffee notes. The taste is big hop notes... citrus, melon, pine, and a toffeeish finish. Medium-full bodied. Drinks more like a DIPA than an IPA. Good beer.

A golden ale wit a thin white head. In aroma, a nice mix of Belgian fruity esters and light pumpkin spices, light herbal notes. In mouth, a smooth Belgian ale with good balance of spices, cinnamon predominating, cloves, a bit of cardamom, quite nice. On tap at RFD, Sept. 18 2010.
