Rerate, cask at The Shipwrights, North Hylton, Sunderland. A nice little beer, this one. Aroma a bit like Marston’s Pedigree, but less pronounced. Smooth and mellow, fruit and nuts in the flavour. No true "masterpiece", but certainly a drinkable pint.

Bottled (BB 07/2005)
Ruby brown (slightly hazy) with a good creamy off-white head. Aroma is a bit dunky with rubber, hops and caramel. Sweetish portwineous palate with Fuggles hops giving bitter flavor. Bittersweet it is - makes this hard to enjoy in full. Caramelly and aromatic hoppy aftertaste.

A brown beer (not ruby) with a fine orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with roasted notes as well as notes of oranges. The flavor is very roasted and with a dry hoppy end.

[Cask at Charlie's Bar, Copenhagen] The aroma is hoppy and grassy. The color is hazy orange and it has a small but steady and lasting head. The flavor is sweet malty to start of with notes of fruit, fresh hops, hop oils, and a little grass. It ends on a slight bitter and oily note, that lingers prickling on the tongue. A fantastic flavor.

Cask Conditioned
Red color. Grass nose, I would say… it smells. Uninteresting taste, a touch of sourness, a lot of caramel. Long, strong final.

[Cask at Charlies Bar] The aroma is flowery, fruity, and sweet with hints of yeast. The color is a dark amber and it has a small head. The flavor is rather sweet and very strongly spicy - but from what? It is a little cask flat but it still prickles the tongue. It ends on a fine light bitterness combined with some flowery notes (from aroma hops?) - at last the bitterness turns dry. It has a good palate.

(500 ml bottle). Ruby (rather: reddish brown) colour, very low head. Vinous aroma, full malty flavour, slightly alcoholic, good bitterness. Despite it being called a "table beer" (with robust foods) by the brewers, I would rather call it a typical "sipping beer". Recommended.

[cask] An amber beer with a small head. The aroma is a funny fruity one. The flavor is flat and funny - the same as the aroma. It tastes a little of cow - I can't really put it into words. A mystical beer - but OK.

Cask Conditioned [5-4-5-3-11]
Amber color. Average aroma and taste, even Cask Conditioned; it's lacking some fruitness and a good hopping. It's an easy to drink Pale Ale.

Bottle [3-2-2-2-6]
Amber color. Light, unpleasant aroma. Corn, peanuts and caramel taste, a bit too watery.
Better to forget...

Amber color, creamy head. Some nice hop aroma; very light malt and caramel. Pleasant, with some malt and caramel, light fruitness, pretty strong bitterness, but a bit metallic, not finished, not mature.
