Cask at Duke of Ellington, Southampton. Amber of flowery hops and cinnamon. Fairly sweet with soft mouthfeel and light-medium body. A light minerally tone, some fruity melon flavour. Drier finish with a bit of salt, but not much bitterness. Drinkable but unspectacular.

Cask at Duke of Ellington, Southampton. Nut brown. Syrup and minerals up front. Sweet and rather malty. Some grain ans salty sweat. Fairly soft with somewhat soapy mouthfeel, Medium bitterness. Not bad - if a bit unrefined.

500 ml BottleCopper coloured with an cream head; slightly malty aroma; bitter hoppy taste with an astringent edge; meidum wirght bitter finish; well-crafted but not outstanding.

This ale poured a dark orange colour with a foamy off white head. To the nose, caramel, bitter floral hop and a hint of ripe fruit. Taste is smooth and a little waterybut full of malty goodness. Slightly hoppy on the finish. Palate is full of caramel. Noy bad.

Cask handpull at Folkestone Wetherspoons. Gold/copper colour with lasting bubbly off white head. Farty yeasty aroma, some promise of sweetish malt. Fartier than I remember. Better in mouth. Quite rich. Moderate light fruit flavours. Drying finish.

Clear dark colden. Malty aroma. Rounded caramel taste. Roasted and hoppy impression. Dry finish (half on cask in perfect condition and temperature at the Dog & Duck in Soho 18.09.2006).

Cask. Clear, copper-colored beer with a small white head. Aroma of bread and caramel. Bready and grainy flavor with some fruity hoppiness in the back. Lightly soapy, thin body. The finish is fruity, but almost without bitterness. (060712)
