This used to be a regular cask conditioned tipple at Cropredy Music Festival each and every August which always felt strange as I always felt it was more of a winter beer. A dark brown beer that is both malty in aroma and taste, also very fruity and with a nice biotter finish used to get 4 pint jugs of this lay back listen to the music and slowly get merry.

Bottled. Dark golden with an off-white head leaving nice lacings. Sweet, caramel aroma with a vinous fruityness. The flavor has lots of sweetness, along with malt and hops. Full-bodied and sweet, with a finsih consisting of both malts and hops. Worked well with semi-soft cheese. (060428)

Cask handpump at the Trigger Pond, Bucknall, Oxfordshire, 16-04-06. Golden beer, some hops in the aroma, biterness in the initial taste but consider it a bit thin in flavour and body, not a great IPA.

Cask Handpump 14-04-06 at the Rock of Gibraltar, Enslow Bridge, Oxfordshire. Copper coloured, malty. some hops and a degre of sweetness, not too bad but I used to drink this frequently when in and around Devizes in the very early nineties especially at The Raven, Poulshot, this beer to me never seems to quite hit the mark as well outside it’s home area and when it became the guest beer of choice following the changes to the beer choice laws around that time. I am looking forward to being proved wrong at some point as a good pint of 6X is truly a top beer.

Quite aged bottle Clear, deep amber, small off-white head. Very malty, oxydized nose, with a weird chlorine streak. Oxydized , malty, biscuity, and a very sweet, sugary finish. Just a touch vinous, higher alcohols. Light, alcoholwarming, dryish finish all the same. Time has not been clement on this one - never meant to age?

6th DRG. Clear golden color. Bit fruity, aroma, dusty, sweetish. Smells like furniture. Taste is a bit brackish, bitter, ’wurzig’.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A pale orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is quite light with notes of sulphur and fruity esters. The flavor is sweet malty combined with an OK hop presence, but leading to a dry metallic end. The metallic note is a drawback.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very goodlooking beer somewhere in between red and amber with a small, creamy head. Very soft and pleasant - pretty much without bitterness. A bit sweet - probably from the added 3% cane sugar. 310803
