cask - I’m not clear on why they call this one an IPA. At any rate, it has a minimal aroma mainly of pale malt. The flavor has mild bitterness and light malts. It’s a bit on the thin side. Uninspired.

cask at the Market Porter in London (on St. George’s Day, no less) - Pours light amber-gold and smells of caramel malt and... wait, is that sulfur? Nah! Couldn’t be! Could it? Anyway, it’s a smooth, mild, lightly bitter brew that leaves some hops lingering on the palate. Tasty.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Nice moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat, Reading] Nice deep amber with a moderate white head. Rich malts, toffee, oranges and plums. Finish is a bit sour and dirty, but generally a decent enough ESB.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper brown colour with lasting thick creamy head. Some yeast, quite nutty in fact on aroma. Hazelnut. I thought it was fine. Bit of sting on finish. Had worse beers this festival. I mean it’s a bitter. Bit yeasty on finish too.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, toasted, moderate hoppy, citrus, green grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100409]

Bottle from ASDA. Copper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel with plenty of house yeast and a short, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Chancery Lane 9/04/10. Amber in colour with a tight white head. Sweetish, malty aroma with some barley sugar. Flavour of Wadworth’s house yeast, caramel and savoury malts, with a moderately bitter finish. Ok.
