Bottle picked up from Sedats Schlüggla Getrankemarkt, Schwaig bei Nürnberg on the way back home after Maifield Derby Music Festival quite a few weeks back now, Consumed at home Wednesday 9th July 2025. Listening to ByteFM, Summer had disappeared these last few days, it's 14c and been cool and showery all week. Pours dark gold, actually closer to a copper colour, hazy appearance, large off white head. Nice bite, good bitterness, resinous, dry finish, would compare very favourably with a classic highly rated American IPA.

Bottle picked up from a mixed 9 beer box at Edeka, Hunding and consumed at home Wednesday 9th July 2025. Listening to ByteFM and cooking a French Sausage and Puy Lentils meal tonight. Summer has disappeared these last few days, it's 14c and been cool and showery all week 😠. This is actually quite a pleasant wheat, nice fresh and spritzy nose, light touch of spice and banana, this also comes through in the flavour, good.

Bottle picked up from Sedats Schlüggla Getrankemarkt, Schwaig bei Nürnbergas and labelled as St Georgen Bräu A/F, had this Monday 7th July 2025 sat at the top of the garden, we had Slow Baked Tomatoes, Basil and Pasta for tea. Pours gold, white head, not a lot going on here, mildly refreshing but all told a tad disappointing.

We visited here Thursday 29th May 2025 en route to Maifield Derby Music Festival, we stopped overnight near the swimming pool in Heilbronn. This is a lovely little craft beer bar located on a corner, it is close to the centre and also quite close to the river. I think Loz had an Orca Brau IPA and I had a sour by Orca Brau. We also ate here and the food choice whilst limited (btw it was Czech food today, to publicise their new Czech bar, see details below) was nonetheless enjoyable (forgot what we had?) I finished with a Trappist Rochefort 10 :-). There is a soon to be opened Czech bar a few doors along by the same owners, the female owner was really lovely and we stayed and chatted to her after we finished our beers. The beer choice wasn't huge but it was decent as well as the draft options there were a few well chosen bottles. It was popular and the clientele were mixed with a few folk sat by us who seemed like they might be regulars. Worth seeking out if in Heilbronn.

We visited here Friday 4th July 2025 following a lovely hike from Kvilda, btw Minipivovar Kvilda was visited later in the day. This is located on the far side of the village, so opposite end from Kvilda and is in a dream location by the river, it really is lovely setting. It is a large place that is clearly well set up for the influx of tourists that it gets. It looks like it is having a further extension or maybe just a large scale renovation, it's quite a big place. There is indoor seating or a large terrace, the weather was glorious so like many others. lots of families here today, we sat up here though all of the seats with the best views were taken.
Ok, onto the beer and food choice, 3 -4 beers were available on tap with a further 1-2 different large PET bottles in the fridge, we had the Heller Bock and I forget the other one we had, but it was one of the regulars, both were very decent. The food was more geared towards main meals so the snack choice was limited but we had a sort of pork crackling dip (forgot the name) with bread, onions, pickles etc. Kids were a little bit excitable and running along past us frequently, it's what kids do so no problems there but wish a quieter area would have been available. Young staff team were a little busy and a little bit stressed, we had one beer that we hadn't ordered but stuck with it as we also hadn't had it.
Overall we liked it, but there is no denying it is a bit touristy, particularly when compared to the Minipivovar in Kvilda.

Had this at home Sunday 6th July 2025 after Loz and I spent an hour working in the vegetable patch, picking Mange Tout, weeding etc. We walked to Gasthof zum Sonnewald Schöfweg earlier for a beer. Listening to the new album by Big Special - Mess. I certainly never tried this first time around when they were still independent (early 90s) but now very much like the previous beer this is brewed by Arcobrau. Pours warm gold, excellent clarity, mid) large white head, nice mouthfeel, some honey sweet'ness, the bitterness and hoppiness is muted, but it's a solid Marzen. Decent beer.

Listening to Pitchforks Shoegaze Top 50 albums (but playlist with one track from each album). Pours clear warm gold with a large white head, sweet'ish', some cereal, there's a very subtle bitterness, However tbf this does build, the hoppiness is quite shy. Nice mouthfeel, clean, fresh and with a pleasant finish.

Bier des Monats, bottle at Gasthof zum Sonnewald Schöfweg Sunday 6th July 2025, cannot believe that I've not rated this before. Anyway onto the rating, it's a solid Helles, despite being unfiltered it's actually quite clear *however perhaps if I had been given a larger glass and been able to pour it in one go then perhaps it would be a little cloudy. Fruity, reasonable bite, a little bit of hoppiness, refreshing, quite nice. Just poured the rest of the beer into the glass and yes there is a little haziness.

On tap at the brewpub, Kvilda, after a 17-18km hike to/from Modrava. Pours chestnut brown, almost opaque, large off white head. There's a little chocolate, bitterness and roastiness isn't shy either, nice soft mouthfeel, very good.
