Deeply underachieving beer snob. I'll occasionally have a drink, and when I do I want it to be a good one. Oh, and if I give a detailed rating on a beer, rather than a quick tick, you can ignore the specifics. I don't need to judge appearance, or whatever. I just don't want to leave a rating rounded to the nearest .5, like the quick tick limits you to.

Can from the brewery. Whores a magenta, that's fairly clear ring of pink head, with active carbonation. Taste is fresh raspberries, with a slightly aserbic bite, with some funky socks. Active carbonation. A really vibrant, refreshing fruit. Exceptionally well done.

Can pick up from the brewery. Pours a very cloudy yellow orange, with finger thick head. Flavour is very hoppy, as you would expect, with orange zest and citrus jumping up, and dominating, middlingly sweet cereal malts, with a slight bitterness, and a little booze, which is unexpected. Tasty and really well done. A new favourite from Slake.

The third beer I picked up on my drive-by of this Brewery. Exactly as a hazy IPA should look. Very bright flavor, tropical fruits little bit of resin, a fair bit of citrus too. Over a fairly dry, hay malt. Minor bitterness, an little citrus pith on the finish. Tasty and quite nice.

Can bought from the brewery. I recently had Gusher # 11, and it was thick and juicy and clearly carbonating in the can. This one of the series might be the ugliest beer I have ever seen. Now, I normally don't care on how a beer looks, but... pours a murky, thick almost viscose looking halloween vibrant green/blue. Nose is vanilla and sugar. Taste is sugar, mostly pineapple, but syrup and vanilla too. It's thick. Mild carbonation bite, but not much visible bubbles. And if there is any sour in this one, I'm not getting it. I can't but wonder, is this what they intended? #11 was brewing away in the can, this is low fizz and very sweet. Was there supposed to be a secondary fermentation that didn't happen? And why is it that color? Just a bunch of dye I supppse.

Can from the brewery. An overall strong undercurrent of tangerine citrus, with mildly sweet dry-grass malts, a little salt, with a forward layer of bitterness pervading over it all. The bitterness is quite detractive. Having bought one of each beer in their brewery cooler during my visit, and working my way through, this bitterness is starting to feel ubiquitous. Hmmm...we'll see.
