Bottle. High Peak Beer and Wine. As with other Torrside pales this pours with a muddiness about the colour. Kind of thing that makes you wonder if it’s a bit oxidised (see pic). Which it isn’t. But it looks it. Anyhoo. Lovely swede if nothing else. Nose has biscuity malts. Rind and pith of sweet ripe orange. Nice twang of lime in there. Bit of a fusty sweet white grape thing too. Taste has a touch of sweetness up first but mostly it’s bitter and lightly tangy (actually maybe it is a bit wonky?). Good depth of flavour overall. Plenty of bitterness to finish. Definitely not run of the mill.

Bottle shared down SMOD Xmas Eve 2022. Can’t fully remember where from, although Brewdog Sheffield rings a bell. “The fruit isn’t sticky but it’s vibrant and mouthwatering. Unreal easy drinking. High quality bev”. There you go. Wish I’d kept it for me and the missus, mind.

Bottle. Caves Ermitage. Hazed glowing rich gold. Slim sturdy semi lacing glossy topped white foam. Nose has super juicy tart dessert apple. Sweet citrus with notes of ripe orange and lemon. Bit of zested lime. Then there’s the new leather bretty oaky funk. Buggy and twangy. Taste is semi sweet with a tart and tangy juicy folllow up. Overall unputdownable with more juicy tartness to finish. Loads of flavour, minimal acidity and huge drinkability. Class.

Bottle. Clear pale gold. No head bar a few bubbles. Nose has like an orange wine character. Which makes sense. Funk. Oak. Semi sweet red wine. Stinky tannic apple. Taste is dry tannic with some stewed apple sweetness. Not entirely still, which is fine by me. Good depth. Tannins and oak to finish. It’s class no doubt but I like my bevs fizzy.

Bottle. Gift off Totnes I think. Probably been sat in the fridge two years. Clear apple juice colour. No head. Smells like some apples stored in egg boxes. Taste is pretty sweet overall. Decent mouthfeel with fine carbonation. Sweet cardboard to finish. Obvs should have had this fresher but I’m going to guess it might not have been much different.

Bottle via the online shop. Hazed ginger gold. Slim ring of white. First pour looked shite but once the bits has gone it tidied up nicely. Anyway. Nose has peach and pineapple skin. Some orange peel. Background woody notes. Touch of funk. Taste is lightly tart. Pretty juicy on the palate. Easy drinking as per this brewers MO. Nice vanilla-esque thing. Juicy tart finish. Great stuff.
