Pint at the brewery - clear light amber - frothy lace - I like this because it is fairly dry for the abv and is generously spiced, but not overly so - dry and toasty, but rich malt base, leading to a lightly tart and warming finish - through the middle it is lightly fruity, with spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, some hints of wood - subtle and very drinkable for the strength - I like it.

Tulip at the brewery - dark brown, nearly black, faint lace - somewhat thin texture with assertive carbonation in the mouth - coffee character is sharp and overly acidic, and washes out a lot of the character from the malt (some chocolate and vanilla) - a mild alcohol presence and heat kind of amplifies the somewhat abrasive character of the coffee - I normally love coffee imperials, but this recipe needs work.

Tulip at the brewery - a most interesting experiment here - nose of chocolate and amaretto, along with some caramelized sugars and earthiness - creamy texture - fairly sweet, but with a moderately balancing tail end acidity and spiciness - flavors of toasted almond, chocolate, roast, vanilla, caramelized sugars - it kind of tastes like a Heath bar, honestly, which might be what they were going for, I guess - gimmicky, but I’m enjoying it.

Pint at the brewery - turbid gold with a frothy head - I am digging the combo of Pacifica hope and Brett character here - makes things very aromati. And herbal, along with some musky tropical funkiness - light and crisp, with a mod finishing acidity and lingering spicy phenolics and hop profile - solid.

Tulip at the brewery - black pour with a bright white head - nose is strong toasted coconut, chocolate, vanilla, caramel - smells like a freshly-opened bag of Samoas (or whatever their politically correct name is now) - medium full body with a fairly frothy texture - sweet, but with a balancing spiciness to it, some tail end alcohol heat - toasted coconut, vanilla, chocolate, toffee, some tail end bourbon-like character - finishes medium sweet with lingering toasted coconut - pulls off that rare coconut beer feat by not tasting like suntan lotion - good beer.

Tulip at the brewery - hazy gold, fluffy head - mod Brett pineapple and funkiness in the nose, some herbs, grass - soft wheat malt texture - flavor is mildly funky, lightly tart, light tropical fruit and melon rind - light, crisp, with subtle but complex rustic wildness to it - very nice.

Pint at the brewery - hazy dark gold - bready nose, with moderate grassy hoppiness - fairly rich malt character - bready and toasty, but just the slightest bit husky on the back end - moderate spicness through the middle finishing with moderate grassy hops and bread crust - okay.

Taster at the brewery - clear ruby - solid American barley wine with a lot of bright cherry and citric hop character - sweet, but not sticky - low carbonation - pine, grapefruit, strong finishing bitterness and light heat - Bigfoot-ish, but lighter, with some brighter fruit tones.

Tulip at the brewery - beers like this are pretty easy to get wrong - they did a good job here - the peanut butter leads but is fairly subtle - notes of raspberry through the middle followed by bittersweet chocolate and light roast - medium body - pretty good.
