Description
La Crosse Wisconsin is a beer town. It’s been that way since La Crosse was just a settlement more than 160 years ago. There’s something special about living in a beer town — but brewing beer in a beer town? Totally kick-ass.
We’ve been at it since 1999. Crankin’ out award-winning beers and being part of the history of this town. Brewing great beer isn’t everything — it’s the only thing. Come on in and check it out.

Draft. From notes. Herbal and citrus hops with bready and caramel malts. Not too shabby.

Tap. Pours clear mahogany, medium beige tan head, dissipates quickly, nice lacing. Aroma is smoky, coffee, burned coffee. Flavor does, quite smoky, burned, light sweet, light bitter, a but of acid. Medium body, tasty.

Tap. Pours crystal clear orange, medium off white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is light, faint notes of caramel and pine. Flavor is medium sweet, grape jelly (!), spruce, bread, pine, light bitter. Lingering bitter jelly finish, but bit harsh. Medium body. Surely interesting, not sure how great it is, but points for originality.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Unfiltered cloudy orange. No real head, thin oily residue. Sweet orange-clove aroma. Medium bodied, doughy malt backbone. Zesty citrus lemon-banana clove flavor. Enjoyable, but not really on the level of classic Bavarian examples. A nice citrus bite, smooth sweet finish. Well balanced.

Bottle. Pours a very pale yellow color with a thin, creamy head that leaves a fair bit of lacing. Faint grainy aroma. Taste was of sweet grains, pale malts, and some grassy hops. Light bodied and overly carbonated. Decent enough on a hot summer day I suppose.

Brown-black with a beige head. Fruity artificial cherry tones. I don’t get much bourbon at all, just sweet chocolate sugariness. Medium bodied, pretty unimpressive. Cocoa sweetness. Easy drinker. Whateva.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a light copper color with a medium white head. A light caramel malty nose and some fruity hops. Nothing like a big IIPA: sweet , yes some light dankness, bitter orange peel, caramel, earthy. OK.

Tap. Pours clear pale amber with a small off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is honey, toffee, and grass. Flavor is lightly sweet with a light grassy bitterness and some unidentified light spiciness. Light bodied. Kind of the definition of an average beer.

Tap. Pours clear buttery amber with a tiny white head, no retention and no lacing. Aroma is pure spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, clove, plus some caramel. Flavor is the same, spice dominated and quite sweet with obvious pumpkin notes. Lightly astringent, light to medium body. Pretty good effort, if overspiced for my taste.
