On tap at Fette Sau. Pours with a hazed brown body with a small tan head. Aromas are of coffee, toffee, medium roast and light fruit. Possibly an earthy or smokey character, but its a bit hard to tell inside Fette Sau (the place is saturated with the smell of barbecue)! Flavors are sweeter than expected, bready, caramel, estery, fruity and floral. Medium nutty and roasty malt characters back the strong crystal malt flavors. Pretty solid little mild, medium to lower bubbles, fuller bodied but sessionable.

Location: Cask at d.b.a. Brooklyn, 10/22/11
Aroma: The nose is yeast, wood, and spice
Appearance: Pours a clear orange color, fairly big head for cask
Flavor: The taste is light sweet, spice, and a sour finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, smooth, and with a long duration
Overall Impression: Interesting offering. It turned a little sour as it finished, which was kind of unexpected. The first thing I've tried from Wandering Star, and honestly, the first time I had even heard of them...

Tap at The Pony Bar, NYC. Pours a dark, shiny brown with a small, tan head. Roasty cocoa in the nose. Medium to big sweetness in the flavor, great dry roast malt notes, chocolate, subtle earth and tar, some burnt wood. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild warmth in the finish, lingering burnt sugar and roast. Really great stuff.
