Bottle Pours a crystal clear very pale yellow with lots of lively bubble. Small white head that dissapeasrs quickly. Sparse spotty lacing. Aroma is sweet and grassy with a touch of honey. Light pale flavors of light grain and grass. Quick mild finish. Easy to put away.

Clear golden pour with slight copper tint and minimal head and lacing - huge, mouth-watering aroma of heaps of fresh hops, citrus, pine, and just a hint of malts - some raters complain that it’s not quite a "hop wallop," and while I suppose that’s valid, must we be subjected to so many hops that all other flavors become subdued? - I sure hope not, because the makers of this beer sure don’t think so - there are plenty of juicy hops, but they are perfectly integrated into an overall flavor that is just as heavy on the malts, with buttery, grainy flavors, and a mild sweetness with just a hint of wild berries - this is remarkably well-balanced, and, in most respects, is very much like 90 minute IPA - ranks right up there with the best imperial IPAs.

2004 bottle. Pours a moderately weak golden color. Small fizzy white head, too much filtration. Aroma of grass, hay, saaz hops, pretty crisp and lightly bitter. Bit of pear and apple, light phenols. Flavor is a bit too bittersweet right of the start, developing some caramelly malt sweetness as it progresses. Very clean and filtered flavors of light grains, a touch of honey and almonds. Hops on the finish are not overdone, and add a good crispness, light herbal/spiciness. Still, I’m not terribly impressed. Malt seems muddled and too overbearing up front. Eh, it’s quite drinkable but unremarkable.

2004 bottle. Pours a red burgundy, dark cherry color, mostly clear with a small white head, mostly disipating, obviously fiiltered. Aroma of cherries, big yeast notes, light honey notes and slight bread dough. Also a touch of metal. Flavor is very fruity at the starrt with a huge yeastiness. I like the yeastiness but I’d like to see more fresh hops, it’s alot of light pale malts with a touch of crystal. Good, but reminds me too much of weyerbacher autumnfest, were they coordinating the brewing of these beers?? Could be (just kidding).

Hazy light brown body with a diminishing, smooth, off white head. Aroma is malt but lacks somewhat in intensity. The flavor is crisp with just enough malty balance to make this a decent brew. Still not at the top of the list of Dunkels however.

Hazy amber accompanied by a huge head. The aroma was sour and yeasty. The flavor was malty with a very crisp acid bite that wasn’t quite right. Maybe this was a bad bottle?? Too much wheat tang sourness and not enough Bock maltiness. I’ll have to try this again. Re-rate Current Numbers reflect the re-rate. The first one was a bad bottle. Same appearance as above. Aroma is citrus, yeast and malt, somewhat between a Belgian Golden Ale and a Bock. Sweet, with a bit of tartness at the finish. Much better and glad I tried it again.

Aromas of roasted malt, a Belgian yeast quality, and dried fruit. Black with a small head. leave a lace. Flavor is also complex. Dried fruit, coffee, soy sauce, tobacco, and sweet malt. A thick and heavy beer. Simple bitter finish.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma is very spicy with lots of cloves in there. Flavor is a bit thin but very peppery and spicy. Really to spicy to be a witbier. Not really the best unless you like a little spice in your brew.

Bottle. Black body with a small tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Big coffee flavors to go with hop bitterness, burnt grains, and some underlying fruit. S bit of a creaminess to it. Hides alcohol well. Another disapointment. Just too much burnt flavors.

Bottle. Hazy light-amber/orange beer with almost no head. Belgian clove and fruit in the aroma. Good flavor - after too many triples that are just too sweet, this balances nicely. Sweet malt, orange peel, some spice, very light hop bitterness. A certain richness to it to go with an alcohol warming.
