Bottle: Poured a clear golden colored beer with almost no head. Carbonation is really weak which seems to be a problem with some of the Victory that I had lately. Aroma is quite subtle has I would expect of a pils but the taste is way too sweet for a pils. I’m guessing they put too much of cascade hops in this. There is some way better pils out there.

Bottle Pours a n unfiltered pale golden with a little white head and slight lacing. Aroma is light grain and thick, slightly sweet and yeasty or foggy. Quite meadly of flavors. Spice, slight cloves, apricots and the imediate aftertaste is a bit hoppy as the ABV kicks in. Barley noticeable for nearly %10. Feel is thick, smooth, plenty of carbonation, noticed mostly at the end. Odd that this doesn’t show it’self much on the initial pour. Full, complex, busy and good.

Bottle: Poured an off-white colored beer with a small head with minimum retention. Seems to lack carbonation. Aroma is quite nice with a mix of sweetness coming from the malt and from what seems like fruit. Taste is a bit too sweet for my liking (or for what I usually expect from witbier – maybe too much cascade?) but still a nice mix with the spice. Overall, this is a very good drink with maybe a bit too sweet.

Bottle Pours a clear bright pale yellow with a very strong nearly white head that lasted quite a while. Aroma is clean crisp and slightly yeasty/hoppy. Tastes of yeast and malts with a little honey in there. Feel is crisp and quick. Easy on the carbonation. Yeah it’s a pilsner, but its tasty and quite refreshing. My first of several "Victorys" coming up. Thanks to Probiere for the trade

One of my least favorite Victory beer. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a slightly pale golden color that was neither pleasing or disappointing. It had the requisite opacity and floaters that signified a decent wit. There was a medium white head that quickly faded. The scent was mild but had hints of citrus and spice - as you would expect. The texture however was very thin and watery. It was very dry. There was a bit of spice and very little citrus. Overall this was pretty flavorless.

AOBF. Draught. Lovely orange/red/purple with some lighter browns in there as well. Slightly hazy with a nice beige head. Aroma of light estery red fruit, brown sugar and pretty straightforward belgian yeast goodness. Flavor is very clean, good solid yeast flavors mix with ripe berries (red raspberries, sour cherries, prunes). Light notes of molasses and lots of brown and candi sugar, but yet it does not get too sweet at all. Lightly astringent; to style and has a good dry finish. Very good, one of the few beers at the festival of which I had seconds. Incredibly excited to rerate with the bottle in my cellar.

At a mere 15 years of age, I have to give a TON of credit to the brewing prowess of Victory back in the day. This thing has survived in my cellar to be obviously very tired, but showing engaging carbonation of what is left, as well as very low oxidation. Lots of deep fruits (cherry, raisin, plum, apple, strawberry, prune) and expressive, well-attenuated malts. Still has a soft texture and there’s no alcohol to be found. Wish they still made beers like this....

AOBF 04. Draught. Fairly light orange-yellow, quite rusty, maybe a touch of haziness, with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet/sour german yeast, medium dry barley and some very soft german hops. Body is medium and the flavor is quite balanced. Soft yeasty sweetness, light caramel taste on the finish with light hops (tettnangs) lingering in the background. Quite mild, couldnt find much complexity. Big earthy, mineralesque flavors as well. Well balanced, tending more towards sweet, but nothing really jumped out and grabbed my attention as I drank it. That’s ok though.

Pours a cloudy gold color. Aroma is vanilla. Flavor is yeasty vanilla with a touch of peaches. Above average and very different. Hides the alcohol well.

Amber color, bright; poor head. Nice malty aroma, with some fruitness. Quite good taste, malty in the beginning, too much alcohol feeling, cork, fruits (oranges…). Powerful, drinkable, but missing any elegance.

An amber beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is malty with distinct notes of hops, alcohol, and cowberries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of cowberries and a dry finish.
