Pours a nice gold color. Nice malty aroma. Flavor is nice and hoppy with some malts coming through. A very nice Pils. Probably the best this side of the Atlantic.

Bottle Pours a black with maroon highlihghts on the edges and a nice hefty tan head that leaves modest lacing. Aroma is smokey, prunes, licorice, some vanilla in there too. Flavors are more of the woody, smokey direction, with more hops than I am used to for this type. Feel is very smooth and silky. Rich and heavy. Expected bitterness at the end. Very good.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown with a small head and very little carbonation. Aroma is very sweet with a subtle touch of alcohol. Taste is bit too sweet (candi sugar-like?) for my liking; I would have preferred a more subtle sweetness (plums). Alcohol gives you a nice warm feeling at the end that I did enjoy very much. Great balance with above average body. Nice one from Victory.

Bottle Pours a a deep clear amber with little head and not much lacing. Aroma is hops and malt and more hops. Some citrus, and pine. Flavor is pine, spice and grapefruit rind. Feel is light clean and smooth. Lingering bitters on the finish....but not as strong as I feareed with the name Hop Devil. Not bad for a genre that is not my fav.

I wish this was not a retired beer. I would really like to have one again. +++Sampled from a 750 ml bottle this beer poured an opaque orange-gold color with a large orange head. There was a very sweet aroma of fruit and hops. The flavor was sweet, malty, fruity and had a strong hop presence. The hops really come through on the aftertaste, especially as the beer warms up. There was a noticeable alcohol burn, but not overwhelming for a beer with 9%. Very nice.

Bottle: Poured a golden hazy beer with a medium head with average retention. Aroma is quite spicy, real funky spices have been added in here. Taste is quite sweet at the beginning with what seems like wheat and then spices kick in providing a nice ending. I must say this is quite spectacular. Body is above average but carbonation is bit weak. Overall, I would say I very much enjoyed this fine beer.

Growler from the brewery. Poured a decent brown with an average head. Roast malt and chocolate in the aroma, although a little weak. The flavor was similar to the aroma with a somewhat thin mouthfeel. Overall, it was a little disppointing.

Hazy red-mahogany color; small creamy head; it actually pours not as viscous and more carbonated than expected. There is a good malt aroma, a bit nutty, honey too. The body strength is limited by the carbonation and medium-high alcohol perception. Good malt and caramel flavor, sweet but not syrupy, with a strong final nutty bitterness. Good and balanced beer, but not extraordinary as I thought previously.

Hazy copper color. Impressive hoppy aroma, fruity and flowery; wonderful malt, caramel. A bit oily, thick; it’s a malt juice! Nuts? Powerful, but well mixed, explosion of bitterness.

Growler from the brewery. Nice creamy head of off white over a deep amber colored clear body. Nice clean malt aroma. The flavor is proper for the style, malty, little hop presence and a clean finish. Very nice. Re-rate 10/07 Bottle 7/4/7/3/14

Bottle: Poured a clear medium brown beer with a nice head with above standard retention. Aroma is quite nice with the hops defiantly in evidence. Taste is quite refreshing with a nice dosage of hops leaving a very enjoyable bitterness on my tongue. Full body without a hint of the alcohol showing. Great one for Victory.
