Cloudy gold with a thick white head like a quality wheat beer. The aroma has flowers and hops. Some complexity in the flavor. There are herbal and fruity hops. Considerable earthiness with sweet malt underneath. I couldn’t drink a lot of this, but I am enjoying a light hop burn right now.

Bottle. Dark copper beer with a big cream colored head. Rich malty/yeasty aroma with some spice and earthiness. Rich malty flavor with some plum and figs. Candy sugar and alcohol warmth. High carbonation. Nice comlexity and depth. Finishes dry and would like the flavors to linger a bit longer.

Hazy yellow with moderate white head. Aroma of fresh straw, grass and a bit of perfume. Flavor starts with malt but yields to hops — grains with slight lemon and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Nicely carbonated. Overall, a well balanced, excellent pilsener with big flavor.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pitch black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Roasted, vinous aroma. Dry body with roasted notes and plenty of dried fruit - raisins in particular. Some notes of chocolate also. 031205

Murky golden appearance with suspended yeast particles. Short, white head. Moderate aroma of spice — clove and coriander — with a background nose of malts. Strong flavor of spices and pepper — again clove and coriander. Slight note of banana and a sweet undertaste. The finish is long. Creamy and slightly syrupy texture. Long finish. Very nice.

Fully hazy orange-amber, very carbonated; orange-yellow head, fast reduced to 1/2 cm. Orange peel and alcohol nose, mandarines. Caramel, caramelised fruit (oranges, plums), lots of alcohol, a few earthy notes, toffee and, again mandarine flavour. Slick & alcoholwarming, give it one hell of a smooth feeling. Not fizzy as expected, just a little burning and sourish lining. Yeast filling. Nice - very unlike any Weizenbock tried so far. Thanks to BrianB!

Bottled Nov 16, 2002. This has held up very well for the last three years. Dark red with very small pieces of sedimen. Thin layer of foam on the glass. The aroma reminded me of Full Sail Boardhead, only because I had that first. There is apple, brown sugar, maple syrup, malt, and flowers in the complex aroma. Several flavors and all are good. The first is very sweet fruit, followed by sweet malt. Next is bitter hops and salt. Aftertaste is of light bitter hops combined with lingering sweet fruit as if it were a high quality IPA. Very thick and heavy, but also soft and smooth except for the light alcohol bite. I havn’t had this fresh, but it aged very well.

Pale yellow gold, big bubbled beer with yellowish tinted dense head, collapsing. Fresh flowery hops nose, going grassy but retaining a honeyish-blossom streak. Nice pils aromas, but somewhere in the back a little bit of cardboard or sprouts. Again honey, flowers and dry hop flavours, going over in a dry grainy malt taste. Excellent balance sweet-bitter, going nowhere too far in one direction or another. Just a tad metallic retronasal enforcing the hops character. Light but nowhere watery; very slight burning feeling. Very enjoyable pilsener. Not great, just right. Big thanks to Pivo and Nat!
