The year is 1993…
… and England have failed to qualify for the World Cup, 2 Unlimited are Top of the Pops with their dance smash No Limit, Shane Warne has bowled the ‘Ball of the Century’ and Rooster’s Brewing Co. has just hatched - forever changing the shape of beer in the UK. Originators and innovators of quality, new world pale ales, with an emphasis on flavour and aroma, our beers start to stand out and turn heads amongst a sea of brown beer, with Yankee (our flagship pale ale) leading the way.

Best before 04/23, opening and tasting this can with pleasure, apero-time before the meal in family for Easter. Refreshing bitter, a bit more carbonated as usual, for the style. Touch of dry malt, mineral, smooth, note of toffee at the final, bitter. 30.04.23

A BBC news bulletin on radio in the first half of the 20th Century once told listeners there was no news, and music followed instead. The news here is that this is an obviously stronger but not dissimilar effort to their baby faced assassin. Still fruity enough.

Clear and golden with a creamy / frothy white head with biscuits on the nose, with a hint of lemon peel. Soft and creamy, you’ve got biscuit malt and citrus bitterness before a dry bitter finish

Cask at CPK, Pimlico on 4th April 2025. Slightly hazy amber with shallow off-white foam and full lacing. Malty aroma with a little pungency. Leafy hops and caramel malt in-mouth, and a grassy finish of some bitterness. Zingy mouthfeel and a fair amount of body.
