… and England have failed to qualify for the World Cup, 2 Unlimited are Top of the Pops with their dance smash No Limit, Shane Warne has bowled the ‘Ball of the Century’ and Rooster’s Brewing Co. has just hatched - forever changing the shape of beer in the UK. Originators and innovators of quality, new world pale ales, with an emphasis on flavour and aroma, our beers start to stand out and turn heads amongst a sea of brown beer, with Yankee (our flagship pale ale) leading the way.

Cask handpull at Willow Walk JDW Victoria. Haze gold colour. Lasting cream head. A little earthy some bitterness on the finish. A little fruit on the aroma. Some apricot and nectarine flavour in the mouth cracking condition. OK pale malts. Yes another solid beer from thus beer festival. I liked it.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 6 Dec 2024) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit, orange peel and vanilla. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, toffee, pine needles, vanilla, citrus peel and a balanced citric bitternes. Medium body, quite dry. Interesting, but more hops than cheesecake (luckily). Nice one.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Pours golden yellow with minimal foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and tropical fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is fairly bitter but with some underlying sweetness. Floral hops and tropical fruits are prominent again with the hops gradually increasing. Hints of citrus and spice later on. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is quite decent.
