Northern Monk Brew Co. owns 1 brewery:
Description
Our beer is brewed across two sites. The first is our original brewery at the Old Flax Store, this is where we began our journey in 2014, and is home to our LDS tap room. We expanded into our second much larger brewery, Sydenham Road, in April 2017. Between both sites we can brew up to 18 beers at a time.

The Old Flax Store is a Grade II listed building located in Holbeck, the spiritual heart of the industrial revolution. In 2014 we turned this derelict mill into a brewery, tap room and events space. This building is home to our first brewery, which takes up the ground floor of the building. Our second brewing site is also located in Holbeck, half a mile away at Sydenham Road, where 8 x 100HL conical FVs enable our total capacity at this site to reach 24,000HL.

A golden beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has grapefruit and pine. Taste has pine, even some resin, light citrus, nice bitterness. Medium bodied. Simple, but very nice.

Hazy yellow white head
Really really nice grapefruit forward aroma with no hazy hop burn solid sweetish malty base, but not flat, not caramelly, not nutty straight sweet malts.

Flavor is bitter mixed fruit peel, grapefruit, ripe fruit mix, it's like the hops just made an unbalanced ripe fruity flavor mess. Aro.a was way above expectations, flavor way below. Decent malty base to the beer. The bitterness is bitter alright but more override fruit peel bitter than awesome hop herbal bitter.

Can. Nose is smoke, meaty, black current, hint of leather. Taste is smoke, meaty, leading to sweet malt, blackcurrant, dark fruit, very sweet almost cola note, leading to a drier coffee and wood finish. Surprisingly complex.

440ml can. Poured almost black in colour with a huge, lasting, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, marshmallow. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, sugary, marshmallow, light chocolate, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, despite the initial bubbles.

440ml can. Pours slightly hazy dull gold with a small, frothy head. Aroma is subtle, juicy papaya and lemon, with a little onion. Taste has juicy, hoppy papaya jelly throughout with some lemon on the finish.
